So Ange has gone from ‘we need lots of signings and we need them early’ to ‘we might not get them done, let’s not rush’
Nice work Daniel, you’ve sucked all the energy out of another coach

What are you trying to say? We shouldn't be buying a very good Premier League striker?
United built a dynasty from a very good academy and poaching the best players from the teams below them.

City (and Chelsea) keep hoarding the best players and barely play them. We improve our squad and depth by attracting good players. We also have a HG problem going forward which will have to be addressed either by signing HG players or hoping our youngsters come good.

Latauro though I think is gettable.
No, he isn’t.

He’s signing (or just signed) a contract extension — to be announced. He’s got a young family and has turned down offers from two of the biggest clubs in Spain — one way bigger than us and the other arguably so — where they speak his native tongue as well as bigger clubs in the Prem.

Newcastle going for Guehi who’s got 2 years on his contract. Safe to say if that happens Eze won’t leave for a penny under his release clause.
I posted earlier in the thread that I think CP are using the release clause to play hardball. Essentially they're saying that if you want to get him for the minimum, you'll have to pay the majority up front. However, I do feel that if you go North of that, they'll negotiate a deal where the up front payment is reduced, with the rest in installments.

How far North you'd need to go is anyone's guess, and only CP will really know that, but I do think there's a scenario where a deal can be struck that lessens the initial pain. Spitballing, I'd speculate that an overall sum of £70-75M would do it, with say £20M upfront, with the remainder over the length of the contract.

The other thing I was wondering about is tax. If CP suddenly have a £60M windfall in one hit, the taxman will want his share of it, especially if the windfall is late in the window and they don't spend it. Staggered payments may just remove that.

We've done this before with Porro, so it's not like a precedent hasn't already been set.

You can't reason with ppl here. They'll look at the goal return and base a player on that. Solanke is a "late bloomer", probably because he was a big talent and didn't understand the value of hard work. These past three seasons he's actually looked very fit and lean and like someone who's taken a more professional approach to being a footballer. Pre Iraola, Solanke was extremely isolated and he was working under difficult circumstances. No big surprise that Solanke had a decent return in a different setup

PPL are screaming for a Kane replacement, yet they don't want one better suited. Preferably he had been a couple of years younger but he's a natural athlete, so he'll have at least five good season if he spared any serious injuries. He'd score 25 in the league for us whilst not being selfish

Teams like Newcastle and Chelsea still spending mad amounts of money while we sit on our hands with glaring weaknesses in our squad

ENIC have pulled the wool over our eyes for too long
What mad money have Newcastle spent? 2 unknown GK's, Lloyd Kelly and John Ruddy are their incomings so far.

Chelsea are buying every kid they can lay their hands on, but nothing for their first team?

What's new?!

I don't blame Levy, he is whatever he is. BUT I blame the degree of naivety of those managers who keep getting fooled, can't they fcukin see, he will never ever change.

Levy didn't back WC managers in Conte and Mourinho but he will back the little known Ange?! FFS
