He’s actually available as a striker so that’s already an upgrade. I love Richarlison but if he’s never fit then there isn’t really any point.
He can hold the ball up, which was one of Richarlisons weak points. Son can’t do that either.
Seems like an upgrade to me. Having someone who can prevent play from breaking down so often in the final third and able to score goals.

Mins per goal almost identical to Solanke last season though & surprisingly has a better shot accuracy.
Conversion a lot lower though as Nunez is wild at times, well most of the time.
19 G/A for Nunez (2045mins) - 11 goals / 8 assists
22 G/A for Solanke (3333mins) - 19 goals / 8 assists
Liverpool with 2.08XG per game.
Bournmouth with 1.51XG per game.
Essentially Solanke played 50% more mins but in a team that created a third less XG and the stats are similar.
But alas stats are sometimes meaningless, as well the eye test, Nunez is absolute shite, and Solanke is somewhat average but tidy.

I think keep an eye on Solanke until Jan to see how he does, he's had ONE very good season and two POOR seasons prior in terms of goals. Keep with Richarlison until then and give Lankshear a real chance to break into the first 11 with some decent game time until Christmas.
It's obviously not the most ideal scenario but we're just not able to potentially smoke another 60 odd million on a player that doesn't cut the mustard and take us up another level.

Maybe you're not good at spotting patterns but we've just signed 3 18 year olds in a row and your pee brain thinks the club would be willing to sanction the purchase of a 31 year old FullKrug? Levy explicitly said in last years fan forum with Ange sat right next to him that the club is going back to basics with developing young talent and is happy for that to be a "process". Johan Lange is working within the confines of that strategy so we wouldn't even be looking that way even if himself or Ange wanted him. Let that be to the detriment of our needs for the here and now in exchange for resell value, that's Levy's call not mine.

Because the historic behaviour is if the money is more than not cheap we piss our pants and fail the transfer. It’s history, like how Chavs fans are spoilt and expect their owner to throw money at every player who whores himself on the market. Things change, clubs change but patterns of behaviour get burned into the memory and take a while to adjust.
I still don't think we will end up paying 65m for Solanke tbh. Actually the only way I see that happening is if we decide to get the majority of that back on a Richarlison sale.
Newcastle would absolutely sign him if they could, Eddie Howe loves the player, and said so recently. they were linked last window but he said that they are unable to sign a player of his level.... Due to PSR....
