I thought they was taking the piss and had misspelled the Napoli strikers name.
He was an early developer when it came to the England youth teams, and a late developer at club level.
So do you think he's second rate or world class?
Most of the other top clubs have strikers in place to be fair. Don't get me wrong, I'm not super enthused by him but I think he'd do well for us.
As I said it depends what you mean by 2nd rate, you should probably explain that before I answer it - they're both subjective terms.
By 2nd rate I mean not in the elite class, rather a tier below.

First, I doubt it'll be twice the amount.
But mainly, does it really make that much of a difference to our overall business how much Emerson friggin Royal goes for? Was it really worth allocating that much time & resources? I think not.

Well he's nowhere as good as Kane so yeah you could say that but he was one of the best strikers in the Prem last season so if that means 2nd rate then I guess so
Don't think we even need an elite striker anyway, just better/more consistent that what we have and a good runner/presser and our attack will improve.
It's alright, Werner will get min 6 goals and 10 assists. BJ will bag 10 & 10 easy. With another 20-25 G/A from Kulu and a good 30 ish from Sonny, we're golden.
This transfer window has been seriously underwhelming but maybe ( clutching at straws ) it could prove a silver lining if Gray, Bergval and Moore bring youth ,energy, intensity and fearlessness to the team.

So we're thinking of signing him based on last season only, and ignoring the rest of his career.
Plenty of clubs have done that with plenty of players. He's played solid but not spectacular for three seasons up until the last one, then got really good at Prem level. But I suspect that the club are probably pondering much the same questions as you are.
That's the market my friend, everyone who is available has flaws like that...even the flavour of the month Gyokeres' record doesn't come up favourably compared to Solanke...it just is what it is...
Market is really volatile and 1 breakout season these days earns you big moves, gotta move with the times.
Besides all that I don't think the scouts will just be looking at his goalscoring record and will be looking at what else he brings to the table...
