Weren’t Rebrov and Soldado top strikers in their respective leagues? Kane would be too slow in Ange’s system.

Ange took over a team that was an absolute rabble, 8th in the table 30 points off winning the league and one that hasn’t won a trophy in approaching 2 decades.

Slot took over a team that has won every trophy there is to win over the last 5 years and was amongst the best in the league last season.

It is literally incomparable.

FYI, I actually don’t think he’s subpar. But he definitely isn’t top tier and massively goes against the idea we’d rather wait to sign a ‘perfect’ player than overpay for a less than perfect one.

70 million for him is laughable. He was still behind xG last season, Bournemouth were great offensively. One good season shouldn’t make a player worth that fee.

Richy leaving is a bonus, one that should be reinvested into Eze or another quality attacker. What he does should not impact Solanke/Neto at all. If we sold Richy and replaced him with Solanke, we’re right back where we were in 21-22 with no real backup striker other than Son and no real quality on the wings. And trust me, Solanke is no Harry Kane.

lol so you're gonna totally ignore my point about Ange using the tour to asses his squad and certain players yet use the exact same argument for Slot doing the same thing, you're just gonna sit there and contradict yourself and use all sorts of mental gymnastics just to pursue this weird agenda, okay then

NIce use of conflating era's as well just to twist your argument, the team that Slot took over won the Carabao cup and finished 3rd mate, they haven't won the league for 4 years and the CL for 5 so let's not act like Liverpool are coming off the back of their peak and their squad is perfect, there was and still is work to be done and seeing as you have been so vocal about teams not standing still and not pushing on when we had the chance (namely us) it's funny to see you now say what they're doing is a perfect strategy, you're very sneaky...don't worry I see you homie :sonpoint:

I really don’t understand why this thread exists. It’s 1500 pages of total bollocks about players we either won’t sign, can’t sign or shouldn’t sign. Then whoever we do sign is hailed as the solution when in reality no fucker has any clue if that will be the case.

It’s literally like dogs chasing their tails.

Mind you it’s not quite as bad as SC which has an entire forum dedicated to this nonsense. At least we contain it to a single thread.
 
Word on the street is that Richy has been told he has no future at the club due to his injury not allowing him to compete at the level Ange needs.

Offer from Saudi, but he wants to stay and fight for his place.
