Solanke is an example that If you don’t want your manager all up outside the technical area, all up in your pockets at the training ground and all up in the Lego and hair grease… COME TO DEATH ROW.

guess toney and david were the backups to join solanke if Riche decided to leave. Richie and Solanke isnt bad at all, i hope we have a real go at the Europa, we can win that thing.

From 'upthecherries' (ooh-er missus!)

"There will be different views on this news, but for me going into a new season it’s bad news.

We are not only losing a goalscorer, but a very hard working player as well, who has found his best form playing under Andoni Iraola.

if he goes it will be Spurs gain and AFCB ‘s loss."

“We don’t want to move away from original targets” I’d love to know who they were. If solanke was one then I don’t care what exscuse people have he should have done 1st of July. There is no justification for leaving it this late. Now it seems like a panic buy. Dippers under slot have evaluated their squad he has identified zubeendi to fit and have just gone out for him. If we had targets then they should have been worked on months ago and purchased if possible soon as window opened. Or they should have moved on. Leaving it this late will give the fanbois of players like solanke the exscuse of not having a proper pre season under Ange and wait till next year. We are always waiting till next year. As Del boy would say “ this time next year we will be millionaires”.

Maybe not the most sexy signing, but not many teams, even in the top 6, have a PL proven striker who is necessarily better than Solanke. Haaland and Isak, that's about it. I would rather have Solanke than for instance any of the strikers under contract at United. Or woolwich for that matter.

He's English, knows the PL, could be a good fit for our system, is coming off a successful season so should be confident and at 26 still has his best years to come.

Him, Richarlison, Son, Lankshear and, in emergency, Kulu are good options up top but not great ones.

Hope we go for Eze next.

Fans do seem to prefer those 'exotic' foreign players.

Everyone was slagging of levy a couple of seasons ago for not signing Dybala for a record fee - a player who averages 10-15 goals a season, and has only ever once scored more than 20 league goals in a season.
God forbid fans preferring players that are skilful and can entertain rather than attackers who are “pressing monsters”.

Tbh more of a general complaint about football not necessarily a dig at you personally
