How Dry should our Powder be?

He can't be cover if he is our starting CB.

The point is when we are playing 2 games a week we need to rest VDV. So someone else will need to come in.
How can he not? Put a player at centre back then move him to left back. It’s not difficult!
We have Udogie and Spence for left back and VDV if the worst case scenario happens and they both get injured.
We have Porro and Gray for right back and Spence for cover there too.
We also have as cover Gray and Dragusin for centre back.
Throw in Davies if Armageddon hits!

Spence for now. He's shown he can play the LB role almost as well as the right. He was severely tested against Bayern and, IMO, came out of that with colours flying.

LB cover or, more to the point, competition isn't as high a priority for us as that frontline. Sort that first, deal with LB afterwards, as we have sufficient cover there without it impacting our level or balance.

Wonering whether we should get abraham as a 2nd striker if solanke gets injured or needs a rest. 20m tops is worth a punt unless ange sees lankshear as a 2nd striker.
Abraham???

You know we still got Richarlison, right?

So to confirm, because of stats (or goals) you think Son, Solanke and Johnson is an attacking trio that can challenge for the title?

Some people really haven’t a clue.

Johnson is a talented youngster who played more games than we’d have liked last season because Kulu wasn’t quite good enough off the right. He’s not done so well that he’s “undroppable” even in your view surely?!

He has room to grow and let’s hope he gets there, but your posts scream of someone who doesn’t understand the game.

Time and time and time again last season we built well through the first 2 thirds of the pitch and cycled the ball out wide, only to have wide players that either;

A) came back inside to the congested area of the pitch
B) couldn’t beat their man and just recycle the ball back home.

We don’t have a great one on one threat out wide and we need it. It’s very simple….
I never mentioned the other 2. You responded to my post where I said Johnson was 1st choice, and it's silly to think he won't be when he scored or assisted 20% of our goals last season (our 2nd most prolific season in 40 years).

A goal isn't a fucking stat. It's how the game is won and lost.
