Because his knees are gone.

He's never played a prolific number of games, over the previous seasons to joining us, 24, 26 and 35.

Neto, the player everyone was wanking over in here three days ago has averaged 15 games a season in the same period.

I think Solomon is a very good addition to the squad, and an injury shouldn't determine a players ability when fully fit, I mean just ask Richy.

But he is the right signing for us.
I am not questioning that. I preferred Toney or even Alvarez or even a player with a better pedigree in terms of trophies but club signed Solanke, he's a Spurs player now and am totally behind the new signing, Hope he does well scores 20 plus in the PL and 10 plus in the cups. Realistic expectations for a Spurs fan and achievable target for a £60m striker.
The future will tell if right signing BUT defo ain't a marquee signing. The likes of Haaland, Mbape, Messi, Ronaldo, Bale are/were. The gap is huge so let's not compare.
I don't remember Solanke being mentioned in this thread until few days ago, Toney was.

He came a year before Kane. His game is nothing like Harry Kane's. No way can he be realistically be considered any kind of replacement.

FWIW, I like Richy. I praised the signing at the time and I really believe he could and should be a massive asset moving forward so long as he's managed and utilised in the right way. You don't feature regularly for the Brazilian national team for nothing.

Great attitude, too.

That Jim the club physio?

Our club is never in the market for marquee signings

I didn't ask for marquee signing. one poster here namely Lickher Lickher considers Solanke a marquee signing 🤣

you wanna try watching the actual game instead of relying on stat sheets. 15 G/A is far from great! especially when its from a player that offers fuck all outside of that.
How he was a big success is beyond me! Missed some absolute sitters, bottles challenges, has no real football skill, never seen him
Make any sort of progressive pass and has only type of cross which low and hard otherwise it could be anywhere. Based on the stats his numbers are what you would expect for someone who cost almost £50M.

I don’t see that need at all. We need a few versatile players to at can cover a position as 3rd choice in an emergency eg Davies and Spence - RB is the bigger issue, no real third choice cover
Gray and Spence will rotate with Porro. Both perfect for the role.

Spence is an out of position RB as the first cover for Udogie who will absolutely pick up knocks.
If Spence has to cover RB there is nobody to cover Udogie at LB.

Ange’s favourite move is the winger pinging in a low cross between the pen spot and six yard line. Only problem was last season we had nobody willing to stick a boot on the multiple times the cross came in. Maybe Solanke is that guy?

We must’ve had dozens of similar crosses last season that weren’t converted. I’m confident we’ll see a lot more assists from Brennan and a lot of goals from Solanke.
We also played against numerous low block teams that don’t allow that space in behind on a regular basis. It was so evident to see….
