What’s really interesting - and dawning on me after reading through the thread here - is how it’s becoming possible to see proper tactical variation emerging for the way we set up now. Same playing approach I’m sure - speedy attacking football - but different team shapes now really an option. Three at back - Cuti, Drag, Micky - and a front 2 of Son/ Solanki with a conventional 10 in Madders or Kulu and then width from wing backs. Or four at back with attack-minded full-backs and two wingers with midfield of two 8s plus a holding 6. Or a midfield diamond.
Gradually we’re getting quality depth and new players are bringing quality in various roles - Gray and Bergvall can play several positions well etc.
Hopefully it means Ange can set up well against different opposition shapes and do what Pep has long been able to, adapt team shape without compromising quality. Don’t know enough about Leicester to accurately say how we best set to beat them, and we’ve not seen a back 3 so far at all in pre-season, but reading the thread here suggests to me plausible options are now really emerging.
