You can't register Phillips i believe due to same issue with lack of club trained. Lets agree to disagree then: you prefer to be left short at CB, i on the other hand with current squad - at LB. Hopefully with emergence of young folks like Moore, Donley etc, we will not need to have those discussions in year or two anymore cause we will have more spota to register.

If they keep Donley as the rotation LB then I guess they decided he can do it but he didn’t play there vs Bayern.

Much needed competition for maddison who can also play wide if need be .
But above all else he's a quality attacking player
Spending £65 million on Eze when Bergvall looks ready is mad considering Eze does not fix our wide player issues. People will say Bergvall is too young and not ready but he has shown already he has every attribute to play now. Don’t get me wrong I’d be delighted if we got Eze but it means we don’t get a winger. Werner yesterday looks like a little boy and he shouldn’t be anywhere near our team.
People might think I’m mad but if we did sign Eze I’d play madders where Sonny plays. He’s technically better, picks out passes,is sharp in and around the box and can finish. If not Eze then Bergvall. Use Sonny as an impact sub when teams are tired. We need more technical players against most team that come to us and sit in. I also think Udogie would contribute more in terms of assists and goals with madders wide.
I’ve just wrote all of this but none of it will happen 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Bergvall considers himself a box to box
So that's sarr who should be looking over his shoulder really

Could be an option, but he did look weak defensively towards the end. Could be because of all the injuries and Luton as a whole came apart

During the week I watched a Conference League game between Silkeborg and Gent. Gent had this English player, Archie Brown, who used to be part of this great Derby U18 team back in 18/19. He would play on either wing or as a LB. He was my favourite player in that team despite them having an obvious star in Morgan Whittaker, a very hyped young player in Louie Sibley and other players like Festy Ebosele and a striker scoring heaps in Stretton. I don't know what Archie Brown has been up to recently, but he looked good in a not too impressive Gent team. Decent touch on the ball and then he's got this Udogie frame, which I like. Don't know if he's got the motor but looks interesting
Saw Gent brought in another English player this window, 20 yo stiker called Max Dean. He scored off the bench in his first 2 games. He's never had an England youth call up but that sort of thing gets noticed if he can continue that sort of form, maybe considered for E u20 squad with Lankshear.

It is your argument to conclude " Solanke is our marquee signing" . You got used to it, good for you, please don't force your conclusions on others.

Re Toney or Solanke. Humans are different from each other, everyone has an opinion.

#showRespect.
I didn't say I was happy with it. I said that is our big signing this summer. We're not going out and buying a Gucci or a Channel. We're buying solid Superdry stuff :roflmao:

Everyone has an opinion but some opinions are just wrong.
If I said its my opinion the earth is flat and grass is purple and made from cheese, I'm wrong. End of.

It happens every game and has done for 6/7 months yet the manager doesn’t seem to see it as a problem. It’s how we always end up conceding every match. Drives me mad. Doesn’t seem to matter who is in the team either which tells me it’s a tactics problem. It’s exacerbated when Johnson plays as he never tracks back to help his fullback out.
Johnson plays on the right. He spent a large part of the game deeper, helping out Porro. He wasn't the issue.

Son plays on the left and he really contributed nothing from a defensive perspective. That, and Davies, were the reason they went after our left side in both matches, they knew where our weak flank was. As soon as Udogie and VDV were on the pitch, Gnabry did very little.

Based on Maddisons shitty performances Id say our season rests on this signing.

Of course. Having finally spent 60% of the Kane fee on his 'replacement ' 😅
