We really need a dribbly winger. The right is more pressing than the left so a dribble right winger would make a huge difference to our game. I’m a Johnson fan but if we spend big anywhere it should be there.

I didn’t say they’ll ’go away’ just that they’ll encounter difficulties offloading the players they’re buying and that the strategy they have will largely rely on those players working out.
They also have such a large squad it’ll be incredibly hard to keep it harmonious. I don’t particularly rate Maresca and yeah I’m confident will finish above them AGAIN as we have since Abramovich’s departure.

I can’t see us going for a right winger. Ange is going to give Johnson time to see if he improves on last season. We’ve got Kulu to play if we have to and I suppose Porro could be decent if pushed.
LB seems to be the one area we are struggling and it’ll be a tough one to do. I’d love to see us get Antonee Robinson, but doubt he’d come to be an obvious understudy to Udogie. Saw mention many pages back of Doughty from Luton and wouldn’t be against him arriving.
We just aren’t going to get anyone top quality here as they’ll only get a few games if Udogie stays fit.

Well on another unrelated note at least Bergvall is easier to spell than Højbjerg.
Because we need a different type of player there. Johnson is not a dribbly winger. He is extremely quick and able to find spaces to score (he gets in great positions). However he’s not a 1v1 specialist.

I think we lack that down the left as well but Son has Mikey Moore behind him and I wouldn’t want to take minutes from him.
Johnson is an excellent option to have in rotation and from the bench but I think we need a different tool who is ready to play now.
It cannot be stated often enough. Other big clubs navigate the rules to sustain success. Levy hides behind the rules to sustain long term mega profits on his investment.

He's very quick no doubt but do you think he shows enough aggression with his quickness in terms of making runs in behind to threaten the FB and set the whole back 4 deeper by a few yards?
I think Kulu is much better than Johnson in terms of beating his man but he also, imo, offers technical security when he receives and plays the ball.
Johnson would be an excellent option off the bench if he showed the desire to make runs in behind that threaten the FB, if he tried to take on his man for pace more often because that's the only weapon he has, if he was able to receive the ball under pressure and keep it, if he was able to make combinations with teammates both in terms of passing and his movement but in my opinion it's too many if's for him to be considered a relevant piece in a team that's competing for trophies.
As long he's a starter or plays lots of minutes what this team can achieve is limited imo.
