How Dry should our Powder be?

We really need a dribbly winger. The right is more pressing than the left so a dribble right winger would make a huge difference to our game. I’m a Johnson fan but if we spend big anywhere it should be there.

Time for Lange and his database to earn their money. Mohamed Amoura or similar out of nowhere ? Or a more established name like Eze? Earn your €€€

Such a lack of options

right, tournament football scouting from my end. didn't see him at club level
No worries, my mate.

He'd do a job for a Leicester or Brentford, but we gotta aim higher here.

I doubt we'll bring another attacking player in anyway. Think we'll get a defensive type who can play DM and LB/LCB. And maybe a backup goalie if a cheap opp presents itself. Other than that I think our business is done...and without wanting to sound pessimistic, I don't see how the newbies gonna help us really challenge City, Woolwich & co, let alone win summit. Feels very much to me like treading water as I think our friend Shotgunofmichalebrow Shotgunofmichalebrow said a couple days ago.

Well I disagree. So many of our games were snooze fests. Keeping the ball, passing it 1000 times round the opposition box to ultimately get fuck all on target and then get hit on the counter like an u8 team, I don't call that entertaining.

First 10 or so games, even that Chelsea debacle...sure, that was fun.

But bar a couple shiny results here and there, the rest of the season was way below par on every level.

See what the big fella's learnt this time round.

We are way more direct than Pep ball. He bores opponents to death with recycled possessions until they switch off and make a mistake.

Think that's our lot TBH .....give it 6 /10
It's probably safe to say that Ange is Tier 1, so I'd be a bit more optimistic...

:ange-clap:

Q: It was a big transfer for Tottenham to bring in Solanke, do you anticipate much more movement after that because it would have taken a big amount out of the budget?

You know our budget do you mate?

Q: I would imagine it's taken a chunk of out it....

Look, we'll see, there's still time in the window and I think there'll still be some activity.

I have a feeling that Solanke will go some way to helping with those set piece frailties, in much the same way Kane used to. Having that aerial presence can only be a positive.

What concerned me yesterday was how they were able to overload our left. Spence was man marking, yet they had 2 players free on the back post. I could have sworn that when he was bollocking them at half time, in the preceding match, he was telling them to go man for man. If that's what he's after, then someone else wasn't doing their job.

I find it ironic that Johnson is called out for "doing nothing for 85 minutes of a game," when he did a sterling job backing up Porro on the right. They targeted our left because it was the weakest flank.

If we are depending on Solanke defending corners and set pieces then we are truly fucked.

I don't think the likes of Woolwich, City or Scouse depend on their striker to defend worth a shit, they just buy defenders to defend properly.

Whether they played out of position or not, Davies and DJ were shocking yesterday at defending.

Austin signed a 5 year contract, maybe he's our 'new' goalie. More in-comings I reckon!

One of the biggest dickheads on TV. Absolute waste of space. Guy's only there cause he's got friends in high places. Friggin liar too...sober, drugs-free, done with his gambling addiction? My arse.

You do realise we spent most of last season doing exactly this?
Bored half the Spurs fans to death too.
Before window shuts i think its either KWP, Kabore, Ramsay, Ameida and David. May not have enpugh in the bank to get eze.
Well, we could do with experienced winners I guess.

Where did I say depending?

Solanke will go some way to helping defend set pieces. It's not exactly contentious.
