What context?

People appreciate he wanted to ingrain his system.

Been pretty patient tbf.

Ange was the one who came out and said he didn't need to fix set-pieces

Yes, he did end up addressing it, but it looks like we've reverted to disorganisation again when we should have consolidated.

Looks like he went hybrid zonal/man for some reason, when he appeared to go pretty much man-for-man near end of season.

It's not hard for fans to see what's going on.

There's no wizardry at play.

Ange plays high-risk football, heavily attack weighted and relies on speedy scramble recovery to prevent the oppo scoring.

Ange had gathered enough info throughout a whole season to come to pre-season and show he's ON IT.

Again, go catch one of Liverpool's pre-season games and the tactical work slot has done in such a short period of time.

"Fitness" is what teams with super ingrained, solid, properly established, functioning systems might be about in pre-season.

Effectively addressing tactical failure is we've been in need of.

You don't focus only on fitness and park that up until the first day of the season and then see if your tweaks might work.

What are we even doing here???

He didn’t say we don’t need to fix set pieces

"Ange Postecoglou was bullish on the subject of defending set-pieces ahead of Tottenham's meeting with Chelsea. "I don't see it as an issue,""

Some daft cunt on Spurs Community has posted the following. To be fair, this hasn’t come from one of the so called ITKs, just a random, so there might actually be a morsel of truth in it:

Good afternoon, I am not ITK of any sort however, I had some information given to me yesterday by someone within the Brighton camp that we are getting Simon Adingra. I’m just passing this on as I know nothing about him
I fucking knew we would be linked to one of their wingers as soon as the Gruda stuff came out.
As I saii yesterday (and i actualy forgot a couple of them) Brighton now have Gruda, Mitoma, Adringa, Minteh, Cozier Duberry AND Ibrahim Osman who they just signed for 16m not to mentionSully March who plays out wide and Joao Pedro can play there.

They are definitely going to shift someone.

FW - Richarlison, Solanke, (Son)
LW - Son, Werner, Solomon
RW - Kulu, Johnson, Moore
CM - Maddison, Bissouma, Bentancur, Sarr, Skipp, Gray, Bergvall, Lo Celso
LB - Udogie, Davies, (Spence)
RB - Porro, Spence, (Gray)
CB - Romero, VdV, Dragusin, Phillips
GK - Vicario, Forster, Austin

How on either does anyone justify bringing in more new players without clear outgoings?

Yet people shitted on Neymar, and to a lesser extent Hazard.
Some.people will do that, it's just personal opinion.

Ginola was the very definition of "mercurial winger," he could disappear in games fairly often, but he's adored here.

I can remember Waddle being criticised a great deal when he first came to us. "Lazy" was a word trotted out quite often, yet he's another adored by our fans.

I often wonder how players like these 2, and even Hoddle, would be viewed by the modern fan in the modern game. I'm pretty sure that all 3 would have critics vehemently digging them out for not having certain elements to their game, but all 3 were absolute ballers.

I'd take Adingra in a heart beat.

Only got 2 years left on his contract
