You also have to factor in Eze was playing Hodgson sufferball for half the season. Essentially 10 men behind the ball and feeding on scraps.

Eze played 3/4 of last season under ultra defensive Roy Hodgson. When they started playing as an attacking side with Glasner he look transformed. Its the flexibility he would give us as well, not a touchline hugging winger but could play off the left which could free up Son or Moore to play off the right. He can dribble effectively which we dont have a lot of currently so great against low block sides. More reliable than Maddison and more than anything just a fun player to watch which we don t have a lot of at the moment.

Also worth noting that Son is in the last year of his contract, they'll probably extend by a year but this could easily be his last season if they look to then move him onto get a fee so Eze and Moore between them could be concidered great succession planning.

The season starts this weekend & we’ve only made 1 signing which will make a difference to the first 11. We needed about 5/6 players this summer & as usual it looks like Levy will leave the squad short once again.

Meanwhile we need to stop letting Lange work in silence, those voices in his head clearly aren’t helping him make the right decisions for the club.

Whilst our depth needs 5/6 players, we don't need 5-6 to improve the first 11.

We need to stop conceding silly goals and offer the defence more protection in the first instance.

Wanted to post this but decided on the face of it, I couldn't be fucked arguing with people who just don't want to be told.

You've more patience than me (which isn't hard tbf).

Agree re needing 2 more signings - a creative RW and a LB for me.

No. I am happy that taking into account Davies recent remarks, about this being his final season and the fact that he wants to give back to the club and most importantly still be a part of the fabric of the club, coaching scouting, whatever! there are players who when they finish up they are still assets to the club!

Started fucking Skipp and Emerson on our opening day last season. Having to bring on Davinson Sanchez when Romero went off 😂😂

Those are the exact two positions I'd say we need to bring in! - here's hoping.

Personally I think we need:

LB
RW
C/AM
GK
LCB
LW

In that order.

LB as discussed. Whilst Spence maybe seen as an option, having someone that can do the role to a decent standard is crucial. Many times we had to field Emerson at LB...

RW although I actually think Johnson did well, I suspect he's stronger against "weaker" teams or as an impact sub. Someone to compete with him - especially since Deki has no pace and seems to be looking to play centrally.

C/AM whilst we think we need a "6", Ange seems to want a pressing monster or a box to box player. I don't get the hype with Eze but I think we will need a solution to the Maddison problem if his form doesn't upturn.

GK we could play 69 games this season if we go all the way in every competition. Fraser Forster is not the one, and I'm not sure Austin is either.

LCB Micky is absolutely crucial to how we play. Davies is obviously seen as able to play there but he's at the end of his career.

LW Sonny will likely revert there and we have Werner on loan. But this will need to be addressed sooner rather than later.

We were unable to sign him until he turned 17or 18 on 1st Feb so although all the ground work was done in Jan and we knew about it end of Jan/early Feb by the time he was signed that transfer window had closed.
So officially he couldn't be signed in Jan (even though it feels like it) and therefore moves to the next available transfer window which is this summer.
I know there are plenty who feel it is a club driven agenda to bump up our summer spending amounts but it's just the way the system works.
Looks like he will be a fantastic piece of business whichever way you look at it.
