And also the injuries they came back from, the logic of mid season International tournaments and our broken schedule because we were out of all the cups and Europe so had regular 2 week breaks with no games and rhythm

Most of this impacts every other club, we’re not special lmao. And broken schedule was our fault, don’t go out early in the cups.

Besides which, lmao @ the idea that one game a week was actually a handicap. Leicester won a league because of one game a week. Didn’t impact their rhythm.

We just fell apart. Teams began to do the right things against us and taught us a footballing lesson. Vs Newcastle they had far more injuries than us but we got systematically dismantled by their counter attacking setup. Ruthlessly exposed.

Conte had no pre season at all in his first season but still got us into a CL place, like he had us in one again when he left. Levy then appoints two rookies and we slide down to 8th.

You're arguing that Ange is much better because we ended up 5th last season but if we'd have sacked him and put in Mason for the last 10 games we;d probably have been worse off in the league than 5th, as you say, context context.

It certainly impacted Newcastle who were out of Europe and had almost as bad injuries.

They had worse injuries and all of 5 mins ago were near the relegation zone. Look at the players they had to put out on a regular basis lmao, they have very little squad depth as a result of a very quick rise.

And they hit a run when they got some players back. We just sucked at the end even when we had next to no injuries. Ange got his pants pulled down. Hopefully we’ve learned from it.

My fear is it really isn’t on Ange as much as the complete toothlessness of our wide players and general stagnation of our attacking play. It looks great when we can bomb forward and press constantly and commit 7 men to attacks but when the legs deaden a bit and we come up against a low block, it ends up looking very drab and our defense is too risky to keep up.

A centre forward that takes chances and has some presence will help us go 1 and 2 up then play the game our way

I agree with a lot of your post. Most of it, really. In fact Nuno and Sherwood aside, I've been supportive of every one of our managers until the day they were sacked..
I just loath the low expectations and acceptance of mediocrity that this latest incarnation seems to have installed within the club.

I agree we can't keep blaming the manager. Hell man, I've been banging that drum for years. I just know that if / when Ange gets the bullet, Levy will get a free pass again as he moves on to his next scapegoat.
He only gets a free pass if the fans let him. It’s always been booing of the team and manager on the pitch. And it is easy then to sack the manager and go again with someone new that we briefly all get excited about. I keep banging the drum too. If you’re not happy with what you see on the field, stop booing the manager and scapegoating the players. Cheer them with every breath while the effort is there.
Boo and call for the heads (metaphorically) of the people who keep putting us in the same situation.
If you want levy/ENIC out, then make it plain and loud. Don’t keep booing the players/manager because that’s what gives the top bods a way out.
Sack the manager, sell the unpopular player(s) and go again with the same model under different stewardship.

i dont know but wtf is blad guy talking about

Ndombele: sumthing is wrong with me im not 100 %

fuck me just hearing blad guys story on the net makes me wanna go and eat 20 cheeseburgers

Appointed someone in between himself and the day to day running of the football side of things in Munn.

Presumably via Munn, the club/Levy put in place a technical director in Lange to oversee the transfer department.

Transfer department increases in size with multiple appointments to roles in specific areas (presumably via Munn or Lange) so this part of the club now actually resembles other top clubs in terms of number personnel with areas of expertise.

Spending continues to increase, post stadium we were generally around 4th/5th highest spenders, last couple of years it appears it's only batshit Bohley who is outspending us - and we're doing that without CL money filling the coffers.

In terms of what managements is directly responsible for they are now absoloutely making all the right moves off the pitch - the key to success on the pitch now relies on the transfer department identifying and bringing in the right players and the coaching & management team making the best of those players.
