Club Come here to laugh at the Fascist, Failing Chavs

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I’m genuinely not sure what to expect from them this season. The manager did a great job last year with Leicester but it’s hard to transfer what he did there at Chavs as the problems are very different. The only similarities are that both clubs dominated the transfer and wages paid department.

If preseason is anything to go by they will be conceding a lot of goals.

The managers priority is to cut down on players.

1 isn’t that the clubs priority as they deal with the ins and outs, why is that the main job of the manager.

2 Boehy never lets the managers choose who they want anyway hence why Poch wanted out so doubt he will get a say.

3 Chelsea seems more like a people smuggling operation these days, a farm for football lads from around the world.

Honestly not sure what to make of it all. Nuts.

Also how does Boehy a private equity investor make money.

1 buy player A for £50m with 8 year deal.

2 manager doesn’t play £50m player as he has 50 other players.

3 players value decreases to £10-15m over 1-2 years as player never plays or has terrible loan.

4 sell player for £15m.

Surely the Saudi money that is part of Clearlake must come into it. At some point there is going to be massive Saudi buys or otherwise where is the return.

I can’t work it out either

Perhaps they are banking on a he whole football market for players massively increasing in value so all these players accumulate in 3/4 years? Don’t see where from, other than Saudi

The investment strategy is different to the Saudis at Newcastle so it doesn’t add up

When their asset value is zero, a lot of these players will be entering their prime with 2,3 and 4 years on their contracts still.

Perhaps it's a long term play where they think they'll then sell for ridiculous fees. 🤷‍♀️

I think your last sentence is key. I can't think of a Club, other than Man U since Radcliff bought in, who push out as much stuff in the media. Utd are making themselves available to create and control a new narrative around them (I also think Radcliff is creating his own brand which is important to him for flogging shit ugly cars) but with Chavs I'm convinced it's misdirection, there's an endless faceless stream of info that's been pumped to their key Journo's like "reducing wage bills", easily meeting FFP/PSR, style of play etc.. on all of these subjects thousands of words have been written and spoken, not once does it reflect the reality.

The latest person enlisted to push their message is Ornstein.....

1. Lower wage bill = reality is highest actual $ and % wage increase in Europes top 5 leagues (Sterling £325kpw, Enzo £180kpw, Caciado £150kpw, Cucurella £175kpw, Fofana £200kpw, Nkunku £195kpw) These are massive wages. Now, yes many of the other new players are on smaller wages, take Cole Palmer for example was signed with a salary of £80kpw, and they've now just given him a pay rise. £80kpw now almost certainly around £100kpw is NOT a small wage!! Their wage bill is the 2nd highest in the league. In this TalkSport piece, the guy who's sat next to Ornstein goes with the narrative that their "wage bill has gone down".
2. The wages offered still have to be "competitive" or they want to sign for them e.g. I bet Neto's wages would have been similar to those that we offered, he wouldn't have signed for them if they were £50kpw less.
3. Their wage to turnover is 79% (Also up on the previous year)
4. Having 20 players on middling salaries of say £50k per week is no different to having 10 players on £100k per week.
5. Compensation - Still have to payout Poch and his team and compensate Leicester for the hire of the new manager!!
6. This flipping of players only works if it's the players that are playing and are playing well, so players like Palmer. Now name one player who has achieved this other than Palmer? Those players they've bought who don't get a look may well have decreased in value.

Only way that works is if Boehy is the real manager and tells the manager what players to play and when.

So when a player is say 2 years from their contract end they have to play where as 8 year contract players have to sit on the bench, get loaned or not be registered.

But think about that environment as a player. You take a 8 year deal then don’t play much till 2-3 years of your contract left.

You have made your players very wealthy farm animals.

I think the success of Palmer has seen them double down on their shit formula. All they need to do is unearth another 5/6 Palmers and they will challenge for everything. In the meantime, they will just keep spending and selling everything they own until they stumble upon a great side

So far that's 35 players bought for a cost of £1.3b with an annual wage bill of £404m to unearth one player. What happens to the 15-20 players they bought in and because they don't play their value goes down?
