You can get away with these defensive frailties in the Scottish pub league managing Celtic. Not here in the prem. I suspect baldies trigger finger is just starting to irritate a little

He can talk about silverware until the cows come home but until he learns how to coach a team so they don't concede piss poor goals every week it's never going to happen.

A team with our back four should not be conceding the amount of goals we have under Ange, it shows a flaw in the system; something that should have been worked on and improved pre season but based on the evidence, it hasn't been at all.

If he doesn't adapt as a manager I cannot see him lasting the season and I absolutely hate the idea of another "rebuild" but he's really got to pull it together and fast imo.

Make no mistake, that is a very poor result today.
We have a group of players that a good, well-rounded, manager could come in a get playing effectively.

So, I wouldn't foresee a rebuild, as such, more of just system adaptation.

But the way we're playing just isn't going to work, if we want to do anything significant.

We just don't have enough quality components.

And, really, Ange's style is just flakey af in the prem.

Let's just be fucking real.

It's too FRAGILE.

What does a set piece coach do really though than other coaches can’t take on? It’s not like our set pieces have been great pre Ange. A defensive coach will know how to defend corners or free kicks? The idea that a designated coach will make us solid as a rock is a little naive.
It's worked for Woolwich. The same as anything it's about working on things finding deficiencies and making them better.

I agree mate, it might not be what people want to hear but I honestly think he's been found out and the prem is just above his level as a manager tbh, especially at a club with top 4 aspirations.

I would love to be wrong for obvious reasons but I would be willing to bet in this instance I am not, there is almost an air of inevitability about it all.

Can anyone who was cool with sonny staying on for 91 mins, after stinking it out, tell me what they think was going through Ange's head?

Because I'm really, really struggling here.

As I've mentioned before, tactically flexible Graham Potter would get better results over a season with this exact squad.

He can’t coach attacking variation in the final third either. It would be exactly the same.

I can’t help but think he’s been let down with his targets as well.

However, tonight we looked exactly how I knew we’d look although I was surprised we controlled the first half like we did. Lester must be very shit.

We can’t just go to pieces after conceding one goal. It happened time and again last season and is again. Too many weak characters in this side.

What did he say before the game?

"I am not here to just take part, this is a big football club. We haven’t won anything in a long time and we want to change that.”

We give up such clear goalscoring opportunities and yet can't create such opportunities ourselves. I don't think we'll ever be on a level with the likes of city, aresenal or Liverpool with this philosophy. When he came in many were happy with this kind of football saying things like I'd rather play this way and lose 4-3. You have to have some balance and be able to defend as well as you attack. Every week its suicidal defending coupled with lacklustre finishing due to the way we play. Sorry its not good enough I want to see winning football not naive we'll win some lose some football.

Just remember his 2 defensive stars at Celtic were two players nowhere near good enough for Spurs.

There really is no variation to his tactics or his style of play.

It’s just commit men forward, hopelessly kick it out wide to untalented players to try and create something, slowly but surely commit defenders a bit too far, and then get countered. Goal.

We do play lovely stuff through build up at times and I do think he’s let down by the lack of quality up front but it’s the exact same story every match. That’s the issue with him, everyone in the country all knows what we’re going to do and what’s going to happen.
