I think it also proves we are probably one of the most hated club that opposing teams like to tackle/challenge us much more than others.
I don't know where it comes from. But if I had to guess, it's one of two (three*) things:

1. We genuinely have more hatred that most teams. Chavs, Scum, Spam, to name our closest three enemies. So we get kicked by more clubs than most.

2. Perhaps it's because we're in that middle-ground of being a 'top club' and being beatable. i.e. we don't win enough to give them the 'ah well, no shame in losing to X' excuse. So if we are winning, they get petulant and start aiming for the achilles. The Poch era had a good stretch where we rarely lost, if we could have another of those, it would be good to see if it did anything to make the dogs stop their yapping.

2b. We're a London club. Everyone hates London clubs.

*3. It just feels that way, but actually all clubs have spells of bad luck like ours. This is probably not the case.

You just gotta put the dreary drips on ignore at least until after the window ends.

Sure. They have. And it's frustrating for everyone and we are all very very well aware of it.

Saying it every day, in every thread doesn't change anything though. And neither has winning trophies for some fans of other teams when it comes to moaning every chance they get.

Even if we won something, the moaning wouldn't stop for half the folks (at least) that revel in the negativity.

And look, I'm well aware that I don't have to come on here, I don't have to post, I can block every single poster that I feel is being consistently toxic but it's not in my nature to do that. I enjoy reading different points of view.... but I just wished there would be at least something different being said and that when I have a different, competing view, something nuanced and un repetitive could be said back.

I get your point, if it's incessant negativity, but the best way to stop that is for Ange to pull his finger out, get the team playing. You can't expect everyone to be positive when there isn't much to get bahind at the moment. An underwhelming transfer window, a manager who looks out of his depth and tactically naive, and a sizeable poor run of results.

I wish I was more optimistic but I'm not right now, and it's down to the squad and Ange to change that.

Fuck all other than Ashley Philips joining Stoke and Ange chatting about Odobert .

Usual suspects upping their post count and irritating others.

There you go again with the "Ange to pull his finger out and get the team playing." What do you propose he does, specifically? And don't tell me he should change the way he plays, because that ain't happening. The way he plays is exactly the reason we hired him. It's just going to take time to bed in. It took Arteta and Klopp 3 seasons and a squad rehaul to get their teams to challenge. You're expecting it after one season?! Not to mention that chopping and changing the tactics every game is only going to lead to a confused squad with no identity and set us back even further.

We’ve also tended to have a number of flair players that the cloggers (Charlie Adam, Matty feckin Cash, John McGinn etc.) like to boot around the pitch/intimidate because they can’t match their technical level.

He is chatting shit. I'm trying to work out what his name was when he was here before but I suspect he didn't like Harry Kane.
