Because they played down that side 9% more?

9%?

BC's been on such a mission to talk Kulu down this weekend; almost from the moment we kicked off........ He was one of our best players in the first half and yet BC couldn't even bring himself to acknowledge the excellent part he played in our first goal.

Naughy Blakey.

9% less because Johnson was terrible. Nobody on our team wanted to play down the right after the first 20 minutes or so.

Kulu had some excellent moments farther right as Johnson mostly disappeared on the day.

Considering Kulu has hardly played in this role before and still managed to lay on the winning assist I’d say he did fine on the day. He played well throughout. He clearly tired a bit in the second half and was rightly hooked by Ange.

Maddison saw a lot more of the ball as its clear for whatever reason our players like to play through him more, and, he played more minutes.

Yes. 9% is a lot in this context. It certainly doesn’t support your notion that Porro being deeper was 1) deliberate 2) good 3) somehow a tactical benefit of Kulusevski not being where he should be in midfield.
Neither does yours- you just find a bunch of numbers and then ascribe whatever qualities and causation you want to them. Self-flattering footballing sophistry.

He's still getting used to the role, but he is playing more centrally than before for sure. His best moments happened when he was running around in the box with Brennan holding the width.

He literally did nothing, absolutely nothing centrally.

And I’ve just shown you a diagram showing his every involvement, none of which were central.

Everything he did, he did basically by reverting to his wide forward remit. Which is where he should have played instead of Johnson

He literally got an assist playing through the middle, maybe watch the actual game at some point.

9% isn’t even worth talking about

You forgetting the inside flick and then the close control, dribbling and strength that allowed him to get away from 2 players before laying it off.

Sideways pass indeed....

Laying it off to a player who had to score a worldie .. hardly putting it on a plate, hardly creating a great chance. His total xA is like 0.25 lol.

Our fans get excited over a performance like that .. meanwhile Palmer grabs 3 assists and a goal in a game when given a central role ffs.

The level of attacker we should be after.

For someone who really likes xG stats you seem to not really care much about xA stats. All of Palmer's passes were basic, and created half chances which Madueke managed to score. Chelsea scored 6 goals from an xG of around 2.

His xA is more than four times Kulu’s.

He also scored a brilliant goal. That’s a top player. No idea why this thread gets flooded every time Kulu doesn’t stink the place up, he was just decent against Everton.

The thread is flooded by people baffled by Blakey's absurd take on his game. If he didn't post rubbish stats I would not have have made a single post.
Kulu had a good game yesterday. Not a great game but a couple of exciting runs.
Exciting to those who have blood running through their veins not anaemics.
He got an assist. Assists are great.

Kulu doesn't have everything going through him like Palmer does for Chelsea, he also played a lot fewer minutes.

Our Palmer equivalent is Maddison, and he has the same xA as Palmer.
