Match Newcastle Away 1.30pm Sunday Sept 1

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Im confident about this one. Yes tough place to go but they havent kicked on in the transfer market (could change by deadline day) and the defence is weak. I think they are missing trippier in an attacking sense.

This was the ONLY game (discounting the Chelsea debacle) which we lost last season when all four of our first choice defenders played (and stayed on the pitch).

There's something specific about us as a club and that ground, regardless of the manager or personnel we employ.

Ange was incredibly arrogant to have not even watched the 6-1 from the previous season and this is where the "we just play our game mate" came from when challenged about tactics and tailoring to the opposition.

Playing our A game against this lot is asking for trouble. Gordon in particular ran the space behind Porro all game. We have to be smarter this time. It won't happen though 🤣
Too early perhaps for a "must win", but if we're going to make the CL via league position next season then this is a really, really need to win in order to make up for the Leicester draw.

It's crazy how shit we are up there. It's a long trip, but maybe having it early in the season rather than in the spring will help this time.

I didn't really look at the early schedule when it came out (was selfishly more focused on the spring), but they really did not do us any favors. Away to Leicester and their weird obsession with us, Everton, away to barcodes where we always struggle, NLD, Brentford, away to United, away to Brighton, and then Spam's cup final first leg. Lots of landmines there.

We've had a few shitty spankings up there; but the new idea that it's a bogey-ground for us is overblown.......

We must do better than the last 2 seasons up there but they are a strong home side and I will not be mad if we lose a close game. Anything better then I will be happy. No-one wins every match and dropping 2 points at Leicester is worse than losing at Newcastle. A point would be a bonus.

That's the price we fans pay for supporting a top team, in one of the top leagues in the world. The fixtures are basically dictated by the TV companies (Sky, TNT, etc.). The money they pay, enables us to buy top players, etc. etc.
Well, it’s simply inflationary. If the TV companies didn’t charge so much the clubs wouldn’t get so much money and the players wouldn’t be demanding ridiculous sums of money to play. And we’d still see the same football we do now, but we’d be paying sensible money, not extortionate rates.
