If they were developed, the chances are that our owners would never fork out the investment required to get them.

If Dele had exploded like that for Palace would we ever have even tried to spend the 80m + he was worth at his best? Was he still developing as a player during his best years? absolutely. Did he make us a better team whilst he was developing?

Honestly the insecurity and pettiness is unbelievable sometimes, football isn’t fucking war. I’m assuming most of us have mates who support rival teams. Some of them rate Spurs players and I rate some of theirs. Everyone’s fucking FPL teams on here tells you what they really think but people obviously feel the need to pretend otherwise to keep certain folk happy.

They're the sort of fans that allow one trophy in 25 years to be seen as acceptable because they're such "top fans" (read clueless sycophants) who could never countenance acknowledging a rival is/was doing/operating better than us not matter the evidence because then that would cause them to question why that's the case which is clearly not the behaviour of a "top fan" in their mind.

The expected behaviour is to argue with a straight face Brennan Johnson is Bale reborn and better than Nico Jackson and that a team that finished 3 points behind us, and beat us comfortably home and away btw, are an absolute joke whereas we're the bestest team ever.

I’m either a fan of every rival rolled in to one or just not as tribal as you with different opinions and completely unarsed about being performative on here to keep the Top Fans happy.

If Chukwuemeka was on anywhere near that it would be crazy. He was a youth team player at Villa. Quality though, I would pick him up if he were for sale but not at those wages.

Exactly, they won the CL, then Clearlake took over, spent a billion, and now you're trying to sell an FA cup semi and finishing nearly fifth as a success. This is not a well run club.

Clearlake spending a billion to turn a CL winner into a nearly fifth place club is a roaring success. I don't think I've ever seen anyone who thinks that, not even Chelsea fans. That's incredible.

Sure, but Deles and Palmers are few and far between. Most young players have far more gradual curves into first team football at the top end of the PL.

I'm not fixated on Chelsea that's the topic that we are discussing. I'm acknowledging their seasons under Clearlake because those are the people who manage them now, why are you bringing up the Roman era to claim they are a well run club when they are not run by the same people now?

Probably something to do with the fact they've been owned by Clearlake for the same period, I dunno mate - I don't have no dog in the fight, just thought I'd point it out :davieshmm:
