Could it be that the fact that Citycare so good, they make individual players look better than they really are . Foden with England for a start.
Anyone else would be criticised for selling Cole Palmer for 45m when he could turn out to be the best player in the country. Pep gets away with it because he keeps winning, he needs to go and give everybody else a chance.
Foden could be the other way round, Southgate is such a fraud he makes good players look bad.
Kane for example.

Agree - I did put (informed) guesses because I'm not always sure he has actual information but is piecing together several bits of info and making an 'informed guess'

So he certainly has more info than the average fan and many journos but its not always complete info. And its sometimes not clear how complete his info is.
I am almost certain Fabrizio will have agents letting him know, this or that is happening or in the works.

Here’s an example, from six weeks/a month before the transfer happened, Fabrizio was going on about Van de Ven joining us.

That’s the Raiola agency letting him know “hey, we are getting this process going, we’ve accepted the Tottenham proposal and the clubs are negotiating & working out the various details”

And he then tweeted 26 TIMES about Micky join his until it was officially confirmed. That smells of being in contact with agents.

Ornstein however rarely says anything until 24-72 hrs beforehand. That’s when a club will definitely let him know that this is going ahead, medical, contract length, the driving force at the club behind the signing.

Someone with more time than me should compile a list of all the players Romano names linked to us and who we do and don't sign.

He screams mud slinger to me. Sling enough of it and something sticks. Clean up the rest and make it look like you have a great shot.
Maybe the better tactic is to wait for an Ornstein, who says very little until it's almost certain before we take notice.

People can praise Liverpool taking a punt on chiesa but they have recent signed 2 players who they literally never played in Ben Davies and Arthur

Some of it might depend on who the DoF is or was? Paratici was well known for looking at lots and lots of players in any given position and many of whom served only as a smoke screen to divert attention away from the players he was really interested in (which seems like quite a smart thing to do to me when you're dealing in multi-million pound player transfers).

I don't see how that can be the fault of any individual journalist. As far as I'm concerned, nothing is news until it comes from Alasdair Gold and I don't listen to anything Romano says until it's prefaced by Here We Go!.

Tbf he’s very accurate with our targets IMO - he just goes on and on about it to feed the social media gremlins.

He poured cold water on rumours of our supposed interest in Chiesa and others for example.

He is reliable, its just his manner is very irritating.
