There's something to be said for establishing relationship with players. I remember Chelsea wanted to gazump us for Richarlison, but he rejected them cause we came for him first and he gave us his word.
Thank god he gave us his word. Imagine if we failed to secure such a reliable talent

I don't know if we are running the same team though, better, worse or a similar level, the question is whether the new set of players will be better than the old, you don't know and neither do I. On the point about signing big names, it hasn't worked for us because the players we've bought who stood out haven't traditionally been big names,

We've done some business in the window that may have been wise, but it looks as though we haven't changed but 1 face in the 11 for week in and week out. Because we're likely to see most of the same men each week we're likely to see most of the same results.

Last year this team had a hot start, but against a very favorable schedule. Then we sputtered to the end losers of 5 out of 7, with the two wins against teams that were relegated. Things didn't get better as the season progressed.

I don't want to see it or to say it, but it feels like we were lucky to finish 5th with this team last year and I can't see results improving much this season.

Tbh mate I think we’re right not to blow all our money on overpriced players to try and push to win now. That’s tough to hear but it’s true. We are nowhere near.
I certainly agree that we shouldn't spend money just to be doing it, but we have so much room for improvement, was there no one available at all who could have helped the starting 11? I don't buy it.

We got Solanke for big money, hopefully he will be a good player for us, but he's only here because Richarlison was a big bust. So even if he works out we've only gotten back to even.

I look for hope everywhere but I just don't see anywhere this club is heading in the right direction.

Well we've seen how it's played out and like I guessed the value of players has significantly decreased.

In think that’s fair. Big wage players have still moved to big wage clubs but slightly reduced fees.

But also big stars really just haven’t moved. Solanke for 65m might have been the biggest transfer fee of the summer?

Osimhen didn’t get a move because of wages not transfer fee. Kvara, Leao, all of the big wage players with years on their deals just stayed put.

Only Tottenham Hotspur could turn a football player into derivative future stock option. (the rest is not aimed at you directly Dudski!).

I said this a matter of days ago:

Go read the terms of the option on Cardosa - this man has literally dehumanised a football player to the point that he could potentially make money off of his sell-on clause without the guy even putting on OUR shirt.

That's not even greed, its demonic. To all Levy supporters and apologists, I hope you enjoyed your transfer window, do continue to worship high priest Mr Daniel LaVey. Give it all the vigor and futility of throwing ice cubes at the sun.

Till January window, where do this retarded dance again.
Where can we read the terms of the option on Cardoso?

Seems to be fairly big discrepancies between how it’s been reported and nothing official is out yet?

From the consensus of what’s been reported, we have a year to either buy him for €30m (which looks an unbelievable price) or we get a -% of the sale if we don’t buy him.

But based on the type of player he is, the need we have in the squad, and the fact that Biss and Bentancur both have a year left next summer, it looks like barring unforeseen circumstances we have got our man and a player who’s statistically and physically the perfect fit to refresh the senior CM spots.

How’s that demonic?

Wow we didn't break 2000 pages.

We also didn't strengthen our defence other than reintegrating Djed and having Gray as a backup backup RB.

He can't play LB either to be fair
I wonder what his social media pages will say this morning?

Sergio Reguilón: marked 'safe' from the great THFC deadwood cull of 2024.

Though if someone told me at the start of the year that he'd be the only one left by now, I'd never have believed it. "Interesting" work on the "ins", with several of them being so promising yet so young, but surely undeniably great work on the "outs"...

To buy him he would need to want to come though.
