Here are the player I saw had been linked to Spurs by different media outlets for this 2024 summer TW.
And, before anyone think I believe Spurs were after all these players: no, I don't! I just posting this to show how the media love to link various clubs to player for the sake of click baits (but some - or rather a few - of the links are, of course, genuine)

Clearly Southgate is happy with the squad for when he takes over in January

I have never foul voted anyone , but was sorely tempted for this post. We have suffered enough , have a heart

One of the biggest cognitive biases of football fans is wanting more and more players during the transfer window.

Matchday squad is 20 (11+9) so you fill out that, but probably don’t want any of your ‘name’ players being outside of that. Well, when you look at our 20 then it’s kind of full. You want to bring a RW to start instead of Johnson? Then Johnson struggles to even make the bench.

You bring in the ‘all-action’ midfielder? Then probably Bergvall is not on the bench.

Injuries. We already have two out.

:levystare:"I'm So Glad Ange understood the Memo. Spent under 71 million, saving about 34 million on salary budget. Seems we can put up an extra 2 or 3 floors in the new hotel with the Kane Money after all. It's Great Being a World Class FOOTBALL CLUB".

:ange-pray:"I can only pray this taste will leave my mouth. It's taken a lot of Levy Arse Licking to get to this point. Let's hope my Ange Ball Illusion holds for this season".

I think people generally just want better players. It really isn't more complicated than that.

Where can we read the terms of the option on Cardoso?

Seems to be fairly big discrepancies between how it’s been reported and nothing official is out yet?

From the consensus of what’s been reported, we have a year to either buy him for €30m (which looks an unbelievable price) or we get a -% of the sale if we don’t buy him.

But based on the type of player he is, the need we have in the squad, and the fact that Biss and Bentancur both have a year left next summer, it looks like barring unforeseen circumstances we have got our man and a player who’s statistically and physically the perfect fit to refresh the senior CM spots.

How’s that demonic?
I shall be monitoring the Betis games with great interest from now on. We all look good on YouTube but he looks even better. An absolute powerhouse.
Strange that 99% of us had never heard of him even though he was nominated for young player of the year in La Liga.
Thought He was American but happier now that I know he is Brazilian. Just born in the USA….but he’s not called Bruce.

And then when Name Player has a run-of-the-mill (AKA "beyond woeful") game, people lose their shit and demand to know why he was picked ahead of Young Player.

Good work thanks. I wonder what all the clicks for all those stories added up to in advertising revenue? Now if you really want to impress me….

In think that’s fair. Big wage players have still moved to big wage clubs but slightly reduced fees.

But also big stars really just haven’t moved. Solanke for 65m might have been the biggest transfer fee of the summer?

Osimhen didn’t get a move because of wages not transfer fee. Kvara, Leao, all of the big wage players with years on their deals just stayed put.

There's a reason for that though, clubs have PSR concerns therefore taking less risks and thus there's less money going around in the market which was my point all along, I didn't expect Saudi to cut back on spending either tbf.

Seems like on the whole clubs with money now are just being more sensible, even non Prem teams like PSG/Bayern/Real aren't spending recklessly anymore...2/3 years ago those players you mentioned would have been snapped up by someone.

Funny that 2nd window in a row we've had the most expensive purchase of the window.

He would be better cover than Werner or Odobert so not sure I get the point you're trying to make?
I think Sterling IS their Werner! (Obviously he isn't, and will end up getting the Golden Boot and Balon d'Or next year knowing THEM!)

That's fucking nuts!!
Almost 200 players in that list... (Yes, I tried counting!)

...it's basically EVERY player who ever kicked a football in the past 12 months!!

Have you been keeping track ALL SUMMER?
