How Dry should our Powder be?

We needed at least three more, a backup GK, a LB/LCB and a proper midfielder.

Our squad has probably slightly improved but not enough imo to catch up with the Top 3. Indeed, the gap has probably increased.

Finishing 4th or 5th won't be easy, United have made some moves, Chelsea seem a mess but they do have some genuine quality in their squad and we're not guaranteed to finish above any of Newcastle, Villa, Brighton or even West Ham.

It could be a tough season, how long will Ange last?
We will finish somewhere between 5th-8th depending on how well we and the others do obviously.

Ange has made it quite clear, he doesn't want to buy players for the sake of filling a position if that player isn't better than what we have, or isn't invested in what he is trying to do with the team.

If Ange is a picky fucker who's to say that's a bad thing given some of the dross we have just off loaded.
See this could stack up, but then you remember we signed Timo Werner last January, and then inexplicably re signed him this summer.

There’s absolutely no picky manager that would green light that.

Here are the player I saw had been linked to Spurs by different media outlets for this 2024 summer TW.
And, before anyone think I believe Spurs were after all these players: no, I don't! I just posting this to show how the media love to link various clubs to player for the sake of click baits (but some - or rather a few - of the links are, of course, genuine)

I also heard a lot of people frustrated with these players calling for decisive upgrades when the transfer window opened. ....not being replaced with teenage prospects that may or may not come good in the future.
Lol. You know they may come good as well. Then they will be the upgrades. We never know. The success of the window will only be known some time later. We knew how VdV turns out now. We also knew how Lo Celso and Ndombele turned out.

It's just ridiculous people think our signings of the youngsters totally meant we lack ambition. Yet when Mainoo or Palmer or Madueke or Edwards or KWP or even Jake Clarke ffs perform elsewhere, we were hoping we could do the same. We ARE doing that now, and people go 'Levy and the club lack ambition'

Oh look the angry little man has returned again I see.

Remember last week you were adamant we weren't working on corners despite showing you images of us clearly working on corners and then scoring from a fucking corner against Everton lmao

Then you went offline due to your embarrassment and probably upset because we won and it ruined your whole weekend

You're far too angry for this site, go and have wank or smoke some weed or something man :davieshmm:
Link more Tweets of people talking shite.

Oh look what 'the Spurs Scout' or an NHS Dr said about football here...

You're a complete twit and always have been, your post rate speaks volumes.

We've done some business in the window that may have been wise, but it looks as though we haven't changed but 1 face in the 11 for week in and week out. Because we're likely to see most of the same men each week we're likely to see most of the same results.

Last year this team had a hot start, but against a very favorable schedule. Then we sputtered to the end losers of 5 out of 7, with the two wins against teams that were relegated. Things didn't get better as the season progressed.

I don't want to see it or to say it, but it feels like we were lucky to finish 5th with this team last year and I can't see results improving much this season.
Mr Happy strikes again

I can only see relegation.
To be fair, we’ll be lucky if we only get relegated.

We might be so bad that they kick us out of the league completely. I haven’t followed it closely so can’t be sure, but from the tone of some of these responses, it seems we have signed a lot of kindergarten kids who have never kicked a ball before in their lives.

That’s no way to build a team. Levy out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rage. Rage. Rage.

The main problem with the Sancho/Sterling discourse is that we went and filled up that potential spot in the team with Timo Werner and I don't think we ever considered another option. Ange saw him last season and thought 'ye this'll do for another season' and that was that, If we had sent him packing and waited maybe we could have had a shot at one of the two but I don't think we wanted to risk being left with no one.
