Fucking hell, this season broke Goat.
Levy, probably.
United finished 8th and won the FA Cup. Get Europa, same as us. But a shiny trophy.
We finished 5th and would have received more money than 8th and the cup would have made.
Therein lies the issue.
How anyone doesn't see this is beyond me.100% mate.
Levy has done the maths and we are right in the sweet spot for profit.
Close enough to get the most gate receipts and broadcast revenue without having to pay the really expensive investment required for a club that has realistic expectations of winning things.
Winning a league or cup would be a disaster for Levy because it would create an expectation in the fan base for more success. That would be expensive.
This is a really tough one for the manager to negotiate.
He has to rotate. We have a massive league game 2 and a half days later, and we also need to keep a pretty hefty squad happy..
However, if we go out of a cup and there's even a sniff that it's because we've prioritised the league... That is damaging.
How anyone doesn't see this is beyond me.
Champions league run would get us £50m+ in revenue but would require investment to make the knockouts. Not making it means we don't have to spend as much. You can argue it's cynical but we are existing in the sweet spot. Perfect for him and investors - and we aren't looking for some football mad rich fucker that wants to buy us and turn us into the finished article. We are looking for investors that will want to make money.
Hopefully they'll rotate to give us a chance...I live in Coventry and been to a few games so have some idea on them.
Sheaf is a big miss for them in CM, not sure he'll be back. Midfield has been their issue this season. Forward wise Haji Wright is a handful, Ellis Simms is a big guy, wants the ball to his feet. In defence they will try and play out the back, but pressure on them and they begin to panic. It'll be a tough game, they're no pushovers and Mark Robbins is a good manager, he'll have them up for this.
Vicario
Spence - Dragusin - Van de Ven - Davies
Gray
Bergvall - Deki
Odobert - Solanke - Moore
True, but i don't wanna see 'the first team' pondering about again tbh...get Gray, Bergvall, Moore on etc..I’d play the first team. As both a punishment, a way to build confidence in the system and a way to try and get some goals in the side. We need wins and when we rotate historically we fuck up. We are only three weeks into the season. None of them need the rest.
Yes but you also have to give the rest of the squad the chance to impress and stake a claim. You don't just persist with misfiring seniors (well Ange does).I’d play the first team. Gray, Bergvall, Moore and Odobert need games.
As we saw in pre-season I don't think swapping these young guys in makes us weaker.Yeah I know, but I dont think we are in a position to do that in this game. Lose at Coventry and the manager is in trouble. Maybe wait and do it at home against carrier bag.
Ange said before NLD that him and Richy were still in rehabilitation. Is there any news on Lankshear?
I'd really like him to be involved.

In fact, Moore and Odobert on the wings is a damn sight more interesting than the others (I know Son won't be dropped).
But at least Gray, Bergvall and Odobert to start and inject freshness and direct play. Moore to come on for the last 30.
