Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It's not that though is it. Sack Ange and Levy wins again. How can people not see this?

Every manager fails with us, when will people realise they arent the problem?!?!

Even under Levy though, Redknapp, Poch and Conte got us in the CL. That should be the minimum aim for any coach.
Ramos, Redknapp, Poch and Mourinho got us to cup finals as well. 90 minutes from silverware.
Levy is a massive problem. We all know that. But we are shit right now because the coach is out of his depth.

He won the FA cup in his first season with them.
He's also taken them to within 1 game of the title Vs the best team in the PL era. Twice.
Sure, it's not winning a trophy, but it's closer than we got when fans were naming their kids Mouricio

If you were hoping for signs of a manager cracking up under pressure, you might be disappointed.

Also not the caption trying to make he's angry when he's clearly in a light-hearted jovial mood. Sky Sports aren't your friend if you are a Spurs fan.

He’s obviously wound up and sounds it. The press are on him and he’s not taking it particularly well.

Always sound irritated.

That is some real victim stuff right here...

"Oh but they play Mourinho style"
"We deserve more"
"Our performances merit more than 4 points"
"We dominated the game"

What you are saying sounds purely idiotic.
Teams have figured out how to deal with us - "defend deep, overload middle areas. Wait for a counterattack and/or dead-ball situation."
Not just top teams. All teams in the league. It happens over and over again - it is not some "unluck" - it is systematic. It is literally all that needs to be done and this what opposition teams are doing. Very successfully over very long period of time too.

Creating good chances and putting them into the net is something we are responsible for. Lower conversion ratio is absolutely written into our script and approach - WE decide to congest the play into small area. We decide to almost always take many touches before we move the ball on. This takes the room away and makes converting chances harder.

There should be work happening in the training ground, so we would have sharp attacking patterns that actually creates ROOM. Teammates should know what to expect from others - what kind of runs to make; in which positions to be in and so on. But I see absolutely none of that. Our attacking play dies at the moment we regain possession. From there on it is mostly about "not losing possession".
Trots is really worrying. It's like there is no plan for how to break down a parked bus defence. The players stop making the opening runs for other players. Just walking football with high press to win it back when they loose the ball and back to walking and keeping possession again.

The press seems to spend inordinate time worshipping the top 2 or 3 clubs, and with the rest they play up angles that will have people gawping. With respect to us, they play to rival fans who want to relish in seeing a Spurs club in turmoil. Which we may well be in a few weeks, but we aren't there yet.

For the people still Ange in, can I ask which players he is getting the best out of?

If you take away all of the stats, form, results etc and just look objectively at which players are performing?

Conte got a tune out of Bentancur and Kulu. Ange isn't even getting that.

Go through the side and it doesn't look like anyone he's signed or otherwise is actually performing anywhere close to their max. They are playing ok, but there seems to be a lack of spark throughout the team, like they are going through the motions but not really believing.

Udogie hasn't looked the same for ages. Post injury yes but still. Does the inverted role suit him?
Porro? not really.
Romero? nope.
VDV maybe the only one.

Maddison? nope. Son? Johnson? Werner?

Maybe Richarlison was decent when fit but we haven't seen him play for ages.

That to me says it all. This has the air of an inevitability about it. Hope I am wrong.

Personally - despite giving him pelters - I like this Ange. Tells you how it is, straight down the line but with humour, confidence and ease - this is the Ange everybody fell in love with originally.

What I don't like is gruff, moody, looking down at the floor, continuously coughing Ange. That Ange reeks of "I'm out of my depth" vibes. Obviously with 44 points from 32 games, it's the one we've unfortunately (but understandably) seen a lot more of as time has gone on.

Well I'd rather fail at winning the league finishing 2nd than go down with 1ppg

If you're pro-Ange you're just plain wrong.
I don't think "Ange is doing fine, all is going according to plan" is a serious position at this stage. The results are still completely level with the previous regimes.

The arguments for keeping Ange are two, that there are no better options at the moment, or maintaining a faith that at some point Ange's message will get through and he'll turn water into wine.

Daniel Levy isn't going to provide substantial help in the winter because he doesn't do that, and he didn't bother given the entire summer ending just a few weeks ago. Levy is satisfied that the team is good enough. Ange will have what he has now to determine his fate between now and the end of the season.

There's not even much point arguing with them at this stage.
He's a dead man walking. It's a matter of when, not if now.

cowardice. backtracking. he told that bird that he was rude too that hes going to win something this year. "i dont say things unless i believe them" now hes trying to backtrack and say hes talking about just previous years hahahah. my god

why would you believe in something thats already happened? belief is about something thats going to happen. he was bullish on winning something just like he was bullish in telling us they are his signings not club signings.

now the adrenaline of looking a fool has worn off hes trying to back out of what he said. what a coward.

I have a strong suspicion Levy already had a feeling things were going badly.
And that's why the summer window saw us mostly sign players for the future. One without Ange.

The looking down at the ground stuff reminds me of people who find eye contact uncomfortable. I'm not saying that is him but some of the behaviour traits it wouldn't surprise me to find out later that is the case.

Tbh whilst I shared it and fully agree that the way he handles press conference in a fun, down the line way was such a refreshing change from Conte, I'm actually really interested in enjoying football so the way the team plays is the big reason I'm behind him. But I have to admit, I definitely prefer it when he's clearly enjoying the whole thing like he is in that video.

Yeah that's also a fair take on it. It was just more my reaction to his overall demeanour and tone when being shown this specific clip - that's how he was when we were doing well.

nahh this ange ball sh*t is not worth the costs, player injuries and risk
playing with a slow build up (and then scampering back) and risky passing from own box when we don't have the players.

Just wait for injuries to come as we go to europe.

EXACTLY mate. Perfectly put.

Their financial interests are best served by certain clubs in the spotlight all the time and Spurs providing them controversy and clicks from chaos.

Ange being on the hotseat and Spurs in chaos then searching for another new manager is great news content for them.
