Apparently wins only do...

I do acknowledge that...explicitly and implicitly...which is why I say ALL strikers are overrated...and evaluating a player based on shiny objects is thus stupid!

Thanks for making my argument for me. Perhaps now you can piece it all together for yourself.

I've always said the one big blot Kane has to his game and career, trophies excluded, in that in the biggest games and moments he doesn't produce. Whereas someone like Didier Drogba scored considerably less, but had the knack of scoring in the biggest games.

But it's not like he never scores against big teams. He scored numerous times against City, Liverpool, Woolwich etc when he was with us. And for England he has goals against the likes of France, Germany, Italy and Croatia.

Yeah, but those moments are like a stopped clock compared to the other moments. I mean, everyone's wanking over his 3 pens/4 goals while ignoring context. Welp, context came tonight.

I tried to get your boy Deuterz Deuterz to take the bait and predict he'd score tonight...even he knew in his bones HK was not scoring tonight so he ignored the question.

He came as close to anyone at scoring for them. No attacking player for Bayern had a good game tonight.

I think Kane is no longer a world-class player as such. It's clear to see he's past his peak and he's now physically half the monster he was. But he is still a world-class goalscorer.

... as long as defending with 10 men in the box and nicking a goal on the break rings your bell. Emery has won too many cups for it to be a fluke though, he knows how to do this.
I hope they go deep, because they are not winning it may take their eye of the league. If City can sort a Rodri work round I fancy them again. I'm not sure what Spurs are at the moment. I still see lots to tweak and our squad depth is horrid...but looking round Europe the standards not very high at all.

Lille have absolutely battered Real Madrid tonight. Zhegrova was unplayable (he'd be a great option for us if we needed an inside right winger with an insane left foot), and even Cabella (yes, him) and David were great. Real Madrid looked clueless up until the 85th minute. Absolutely buzzing. I will always have a soft spot for Lille, and this victory is quite special.

Kane's number is almost identical to Lewandowski when he was at Bayern around same age. Both are around the same level at that age which is really good. However, Kane's problem was always "can you take me to the promise land" when it counts and he still hasn't done that with us or Bayern.

Well, he SHOULD win a trophy this season with Bayern. Imagine he retired or leave with 0 trophies when he played for Bayern. That would be tragic....

He's never going to be the difference maker in the biggest games that are tight. I accepted that a while ago.

He scores against big teams but not in the biggest moments. That's an undeniable fact at this stage.
