Match Brighton & Hove Albion vs Tottenham Hotspur - Sunday 6th October - 16:30KO

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We ABSOLUTELY had them at half time...

The fuck happened?

Someone shit on our oranges?

That was most Spurs-like...

What happened to this corner we were supposed to have turned?

Tottenham Hots-bi-polar strike again!

Players let us (and Ange) down big time today. Ahead, and in control of the game at 2-0 and they threw it away.

They deserve one hell of a bollocking for that
I understand what you're saying, and you can't let the players off the hook for the second half, but as far as letting Ange down I don't see it. They did what Postecoglou wants, in that they ignored the game situation. Teams (and players) need to adjust to game situations. You get up 2-0 you change tactics to make it as difficult as possible for the opponent to get to 2-1. Spurs approach at 2-0, though, is to do what you have to in order to get to 3-0. It's not just the players, it's a philosophy. It's great when it works, but its a risk.

That true but why do we have huge melting moments under Harry, Poch, Jose, Conte and now Ange. We have been mentally weak since I can remember except maybe one season under Poch. All clubs have periods but we seem a bit chronic.

Today was a similar performance to Ossie Ardiles reign and I think someone did make that comment

Can anyone give a good reason why on earth you surrender 3 and continue to hold off changes? Give away 1, fine. Shit happens. 2 and 3? First at 48min...Second at 58...Third at 66. Ange doesn't make a change until 79. What am I missing please?

It's like a gypsy's curse. Different managers, dozens of different players but we play one half like Barcelona 2012 and like Barnet the other.
IF we are cursed, maybe we should hire a medium to try to break that curse! They would probably die on the spot trying!

I think Ange could have done something far quicker to try and stem the flow, particularly to stop the ransacking that was going on down Porro's side and get the poor lad some help, and shake the team up, but individuals were the main problem there.

Romero, VDV, Udogie individually all had car-crash second halves.

Bentancur just about got away with it first half, but went full slug mode second half.

Kulu and Maddison showed why, ultimately, in a team that wants to do anything they are only ever squad players. You simply can't go from Prem to Conference standard within a 90 mins and when you're on the back foot. They're too erratic and too up and down.

Timmy fucking Werner.....

It's alright having a couple of inconsistent players, who'll do it in flashes and might not do it every week, if you've got the rest of the side who do bring it every week and have a level they reach consistently. Problem is the vast majority of ours are absurdly up and down - week to week, even first half to second half.

I really think that a big part of it is that when we do melt down. It's always put down to, oh it's Spurs, this is what they do.. Spursy and all that shite

The inquest in and outside of the club isn't there the way it is for other clubs.. When we crumble, the blame is put on the badge rather than the players.. It's hard to change a culture when that's the case. That task was given to Jose and Conte. But they can't do it alone.

Ange has said time and again, he ain't changing system or tactics.

Today was another embarrassing exercise in futility.

Just goes to show just how poor that United team are.

Flame me all you want, but we have two of the best centre half's in the PL and can't defend a two goal lead.

We are fast becoming the clowns of the PL. We are not playing Queen Of The South or Ross County every week.

Beating pub teams in the Europa League is scant reward for watching performances like today. Brighton changed at halftime, and Ange did nothing.

I kinda agree but the squad alternatives aren’t good enough.
For me, I hold Romero to a higher standard than Udogie because we know what he is capable of. But this season he seems to fail at some of the core duties of a Premier League defender. I wouldn’t object to selling him (provided we got top dollar) and reinvest in someone more consistent.

I'm still on the fence with Dagusin but to be fair to him he probably just needs a run in the team.
Spence has done well even playing on the left and deserve a go in the team imo

Our in game management is fucking awful.
Cruising at half time doesn’t mean give up entirely.
If I can see the writing on the wall, surely Ange and his staff can?
Too coy with substitutes which were too little too late (not for the first time), handed momentum to them and let them keep it.
It’s genuinely exasperating because I think when it clicks, Angeball is a joy.
We absolutely do not need to have our foot on the throat of the opposition for 90 minutes per game and need to conserve energy with a less gung ho style.
We looked tired and clueless when our heads dropped and nothing was done about it until we’d been behind for 15 minutes.

Ange Postecoglou has taken responsibility for the defeat:
"Fair to say that the second half was unacceptable and we paid a price for that.

"We probably should have put it to bed in the first half. What we did in that second half is unacceptable and we got what we deserved.

"Maybe we just thought we’d roll out there and play well again and that’s not how it works and we paid for it.

"We’ve conceded before but it is how you react and our reaction wasn’t what it should be. It’s a bad day for us and when it’s a bad day the responsibility falls at my feet." [BBC]
