Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

And now half the squad looks to have given up on him.

Oh and don't get me started on the decision to sub off both our playmakers when we needed 2 goals. Jesus fucking wept lmao.
yea, i think the players have given up. theres a visible lack of intensity.

yep, the idiot thinks just throw on 4 forwards is the answer, just get the ball up there and hope it works, dont worry about the quality of service. fucking clown.

Question for the Ange Cultists, what is it about inconsistency and mediocrity that you enjoy so much?
I'm not an Ange cultist but I do want him to succeed. I think our performances this season have actually been quite consistent and on the whole very good but yeah when it's bad it's very bad.

Playing this way needs everyone to be on it and playing with intensity. Today we had none and it was the same 2nd half v Brighton. Both games came after Thursday night games so I wonder if it is possible to play his style twice a week. That been said we have been rotating a lot in Europe so not really an excuse. On top of that last year we had 1 game a week and still had performances like today.

I can't think of many teams that have pulled it off only klopps Liverpool really and maybe early days poch. Hopefully we can find the consistency because when we are good we are really good.

Finishing 5th with early cup exits with Spurs is not a fucking flex. That’s like a default finishing position.

The longer he’s actually had with us the worse the team has got. We have progressively fallen off in terms of results.

Unbeaten in Europe? Come on mate. We’ve played the guys who work for the farmers. Top half in the PL? Are we just memeing now? I’d expect Mason to achieve that.

He’s an alright manager but that’s it. He doesn’t level us up at all or give us any kind of edge, we are essentially exactly what you’d expect.

Is “alright” good?? Or slightly below good but not quite shit.

I’m not saying he’s great. I’m saying he can get these players playing decent football.

And he’s almost 60. If you’re shit you’re not picking up top level jobs at that age. But at this rate I’ll be surprised if he lasts the season Unless Daniel has lost all interest in the top 4.

You can only beat the teams that you’re drawn against and are put in front of you.

Sad that you can’t even enjoy an unbeaten start to the competition.

That would be a lovely point if it wasn’t for us playing the league alongside it and being shown exactly for what we are when we regularly play decent teams.

I would expect Palace to beat all the teams we’ve beaten in the Europa League. It means absolutely nothing.

How are you meant to ‘enjoy’ beating up the dog & duck while being abysmal up against your peers? It’s like losing your Sunday league matches but then banging in 5 in the back garden vs your toddler at home.

And in case anyone doubts you

Which is why I find it so hard to understand why so many of our fans are so small minded and happy to accept mediocrity and the pathetic, unambitious transfer window we had once again this summer
A window in which we had a higher net spend than all the richer clubs in that list bar PSG and Man U?

Win the EL you get CL football so ENIC will be happy financially and the fans will be happy we have a decent trophy so yes it would save his job easily.
thats never happening for us tho, chelsea won the CL while being shit in the league because they had big game match winners like drogba and lampard etc. we dont have anything like that. if we aint clicking collectively we have no match winner to get us out the muck. so if we are shit in the league it will spill out into everything.

YeZz.
It’S a TrOpHy!!

Most successful manager of modern times.

Yeah obviously. The EL would be the biggest thing we’ve won in like, forever. And it would get us CL football.

I don’t know where any optimism for that comes from though. We have beaten absolutely nobody in that competition. Teams with the resources of league 1 sides.

For how long?

Say we get to Christmas 2025 looking likely to fall out of the CL in the league stage, and we're on pace for another ±60 point season in the PL? Still happy?

What if we do finish 24-25 with no trophies again, and say 64 points and 6th place? Are you happy with Ange going into the last year of his contract?

He’s picked up a singular top job and it was a massive dice roll. He won’t get another if he ends up sacked here.

The rest of his career has been spent at a low level, and he’s not young. He’s just alright. There’s some stuff I like about him as a coach and a lot I don’t.

Why does anyone think we have what it takes to win a trophy? Sooner or later you are going to have to play someone decent. Even in the Europa does anyone fancy this side against Bilbao, Lazio or Frankfurt? Brighton stuck 3 past us in 45 mins and Palace could have had 3 or 4 today. An intimidating atmosphere at the Olympic stadium in Rome and this lot will fold.

Hypothetically, if we carry on and get the 56 points we're on pace for, finish 9th, and win the EL...does that save his job?
Maybe.

If we go far in the EL then the fans will be excited and will stick with him. I just think there’s too much evidence to suggest we’ll lose as soon as we play a decent side.

Ange can get good performances out of the players but he’s not a manager that can make a team more than the sum of its parts.

Also, I think his main problem will be losing the players.

I assume that if we have a 56 point season and don't win a trophy, he'll be gone whether he finishes the season or not.
