I don’t hate ange. Don’t think we should fire him now, however I also think we have a pretty good squad and are underperforming.
Don't hate him either and yeah we've got to be patient. Not cause he's earned it, but because we can't keep doing that hiring sacking dance every 18 months.

I do think he was the wrong appointment to begin with and I really don't see him change let alone improve much in the future...man's pushing 60 and he's been crystal clear about the fact it's his way or the highway.

And it ain't a Poch situation where you could feel things were gonna get better, even when we looked shit. I always had that almost tangible feeling with Poch that we were gonna turn a corner, just needed a few stars to align. Not with Ange. With the Ozzie I feel we pretty much need a divine intervention.

But we're fucked if we get rid...and we're fucked if we don't. Keep him and the likelihood is we'll keep alternating between good & shite, winning about as many games as we'll lose...probably finish 6-9th in the PL, might make a semi in domestic cups and quarters or semi in EL. Sack him and who else we gonna get in, especially now Amorim looks set for the red gits? Knowing we could hire Pep and we still wouldn't win squats. Cause the issue is much bigger than Ange, he ain't the one that should be first out the door. He's only a pawn/scapegoat at the end of the day. Same as Poch, Jose, Conte and many more before them.

Ange has signed eleven players.

How many fucking more does he need to defend worth a shit and find a player who can lead the team?

We are great at buying youth, one for the future, great prospects, but if anyone in here thinks Mikey Moore, Johnson, Bergvall, Gray and Sarr are leading us to European glory, I have news for them.
Levy doesn't sign young talents so they become mainstays at Spurs and win us stuff. He couldn't care less about that.

The sole reason he buys them is the hope some/most turn into class players he can then sell on to Real, Barca, City and the likes for a massive profit...and give himself another huge bonus.

Back in the day you'd spend 5 mil on a Gareth Bale whereas bow an Archie sets you back 40 odd. But Levy don't give a shit provided a giant comes in with a 90-100 mil offer within 2 or 3 seasons.

I personally think that a chunk of our fanbase are too wound up on the trophy drought and fear being ridiculed by fans of other teams. Being perceived as losers is like an albatros over people's heads and it causes people to lash out. That combined with this being the era of instant gratification means that patience is always going to be slim. Positives are forgotten in an instant and bad results remembered forever.

This isn't to say that Ange doesn't have to adapt. He has to, the PL is by far the highest level of league play that he has worked in. So adaptation is key. But yes, there is no patience because a loud group within the fanbase care too much about how they are perceived by other people and are desperate to win something.
Yeah that's it, that's the one...some fans care too much about how they're perceived by the outside world. Nothing to do with our shit board, out of his depth HC or average squad full of lazy wankers. It's on them fans who just wanna look good.

😶🔫

Per Transfermarkt:

1 win and 1 loss against Villa
1 win and 1 loss against Liverpool
2 losses against Chelsea
2 losses 1 draw against City
2 wins 1 draw 1 loss against Man U
2 losses 1 draw against the Gooners
So what's that...4 wins out of 16 games? 25%.

But wait, don't we get extra pts for the way we pushed Chelsea when down to 9 men? Surely such bravery counts for something no The Extra Mile(sey) The Extra Mile(sey) ?

Never said that any of those things that you mentioned aren't problem areas.

But we have a absolutely frail online fanbase that cannot handle things not going well. That get rattled over the smallest thing.

I get just as mad as anyone else when we lose or things don't work. But I've learned to deal with it and move on. I cannot control things on the pitch or in regards to the club. So why bother getting worked up about it?

Constructive criticism and discussion is welcome. But everything is so charged and reactionary that it rarely is.

The ENIC thread is a perfect example of that sort of brainrot. It is just people arguing in circles at each other.

This is true of most online discourse, on most subjects. Hardly unique to Spurs discussion.

The internet has been pretty disastrous, if we're honest.

Too true.

And I am well aware that I have been, and will be, hypoctritical of my own previous statement. I am probably just as guilty about being hypoerbolic and whining. But I try not to be these days.

I'm all for good, honest discussion however. But the media landscape as a whole doesn't lend itself to that anymore. Just look at most sports talkshows.

We completely controlled that Chelsea match

From minute 1 til 95

A thoroughly professional performance. I believe that match was the spring board for the wonderful form that we've witnessed in the last 12 months or so

LOL that isn’t even an expectation, Ange will fail at it two seasons in a row and will probably keep his job.
Levy is like a dude who goes out every Sat nite expecting to score a Ana De Armas lookalike. Totally ignoring the fact he's dressed in Temu rags, looks like the Chuckle Bros on a bad day, parties at Weatherspoon's and would ask that bird to pay for his drinks.

Not having a go at you, pal...but I'm tired of the finger being pointed at our fans. Whichever side of the fence we're on, this board don't deserve fans like ours, the absolute overwhelming majority being decent, patient people who just wanna see their club do well. And who are friggin entitled to seen the money it costs to be a Spurs fan these days, how long it's been since we've done something of note in the game, how many second chances they've given our clueless, dishonest, thieving leaders.

Yes some on here or on the terraces are the wtf kind, but it's a minority.

Burying our heads in the sand, letting our chairman bum us again & again, all that to be popular online...that ain't helping Tottenham Hotspur. Neither is throwing the book at fellow fans.

This fanbase is far from frail, quite rightly as you mentioned the prices Tottenham fans pay to see very little in return.
A club of this size should be far more successful than it is, this club could do far more in transfer windows than it does.
Every window we are looking for a big player for a specific position, only to end up with another option further down the line.
This club isn't going to do a Leeds by going heavy in one or two windows, what it is doing like a Leeds is, staying further and further away from challenging.

The guy’s a billionaire. You can joke about his appearance and style but you’ve helped get him there. I know I have and do so (willingly) every season even though I can’t stand him.

So which one of us is truly laughing?
