Imagine if we had won all our games!!
And ten pound notes grew up trees.

Let’s just deal in facts today!!

United are below us in all metrics.
They just lost to a West Ham side we battered.

Our manager always wins trophies in his second season. It’s what he does mate.

Facts.
Bet they finish above us.
And you will just have to wait for that one.

Another point made so well.
It is true.

In the long run, it does not make much more of a difference than the period in which managers get disillusioned.
For Poch it took like 5 years. With Conte it happened with less than 1 years.

And in that sense I fully agree with critique against Levy. For Conte it was Rodon instead of Skriniar.
This summer for Ange it was Odobert instead of Eze.

But even on the backdrop of that issue of not actually pulling the right strings at the right time, I STILL fully insist that with current team it is not just possible but it is very basic requirement to do better 4 wins from 9 games.

Oh 100%. There is absolutely no excuse for what we are seeing from Ange nearly 18 months in to his reign. Our side, and particularly in my view, the defence, we are nowhere near being solid enough to what is needed to compete in the PL. On paper our defence is good. However what we are seeing in the ways of mistakes is fully on Ange. He isn't getting the focus and discipline out of the players needed to keep enough clean sheets

Terzic is an interesting one if I am being honest.

He plays a good enough brand of football. Direct attacking ball that on paper would suit our attacking line. So he could be one to keep an eye on.

He reportedly left Dortmund because he felt a lack of support from the board in regards to a open feud with Mats Hummels.

But I still maintain that Ange will see out the season and probably beyond unless things completely collapse.
Cheers re Terzic. That does sound interesting and certainly preferable to Potter if it comes to it.

Ange next season? I'd say the chances are extremely slim. Things can change of course but i think they need to change pretty quickly. We've got Villa, City, Fulham, Bournemouth, Chelsea and Liverpool all before Christmas. Only real gimme in that time is Ipswich at home.

He has a set of videos on the coache's voice were he talks about his tactics (specifically against PSG in the CL) which are interesting to listen to.

Against PSG he ran a mid block press and tried to trigger counters from there. So a sort of middle ground between high line attacking ball and pure counter attacking. On paper that would suit guys like Johnson and Odobert quite well. If it ever came to it. He has his idea of how to play but tweaks it based on the opponent.

December is absolutely brutal. If the players are struggling now with his demands on pressing hard for long portions of the game they will be absolutely fucked by the time December comes around.

Plus if we get though tomorrow night 18th December is QF date. Midweek before the Liverpool game on the 22nd. We’ve got a 1900 kick off away against Soton on the Sunday 15th for some weird reason.

I'd have Eric Ten Hag in a heartbeat. Proven quality...

Apologies, I appear to have timewarped to early April 2022.

Still, if I'm not mistaken he was the preferred choice back then, led the poll comfortably I seem to recall.

Who would ever have thought that people on the internet could be wrong?

Won more trophies in two years than we have in 25

No its not. You can't blame the manager for every defeat. I've already explain all my workings in previous posts. He was 100% at fault for the Palace game and was slow to read the situation against Brighton so you could in part blame him for that second half.

But to just refer to a "deficiency in his system" as the reason we lost to Newcastle and Woolwich is just a really lazy analysis. Our front 3 underperformed in both games. Son was well marked, Solanke missed the newcastle game and was ring rusty aginst Woolwich. Brennan was notably poor in both games and had to deactivate his social media due to the backlash. In both games Romero switched off and we conceded poor goals. Them 2 results were not on Ange. Please lets have some perspective.

I've already been really critical of Ange for the Palace game but lets keep it real and have some perspective.

It absolutely is.

When same thing happened literally FOUR OUT OF FIVE games, then it is so obviously not luck. You can scream "I cant hear you. I cant hear you!" a million times if you will. Does not change the fact we lost 2 out of them, drew with piss poor Leicester and just managed to win against lower league side in extra minutes.

From season opening five games we failed to capitalize in 80% of the time. Let that sink in for a moment, before calling it a fluke (and in that context, please forget word "analysis" when you just talk about what you "believe"). It only changed when we changed to Kulu-Madders midfield duo and Johnson role also slightly altered.

That’s an interesting bet. I will put £0.10p on us finishing above them. What odds do I get??

You can currently get 10/1 on them finishing top 4.

5/2 on us. Bookies must be seeing more money on us at the moment I guess. See how that changes over the next few months.

West Ham are 66/1 - they are on the same points as United currently and just beat them.

If we sack him then Mason finished out the season 100%. Rinse repeat.

I just saw someone in the comments make a case for Ten Hag haha you couldn't make it up really. He is 100% finishing out the season haha its madness the way some fans go on. I blame him for the defeat at the weekend but lets have some perspective and give him a chance to turn it around. Whats the rush? Rushing in a new manager to try make top 4? Relax. Lets judge Ange in May and we can see then if he needs replacing

I am not saying that Ange should be fired on the spot. As I pointed out, when we had some issues, he has managed to find some tweaks and I hope he continues to do so.

But if it continues in the same way (in terms of results) he will not see a January window, not to mention next summer. Again - you talk about your belief, but reality is simple - 9 games, 4 wins. 55 point course.
And look, it would be acceptable if it was this season we are talking about.
But that is FULL 12 MONTHS in similar fashion. ONE. FULL. YEAR of bad results and thus badly done job. Simple as.

It is not about "top 4". it is about total and absolute standstill in results for 365 days. As I said - he currently still has time, but it is running VERY low.

This idea that was being perpetuated around last summer. "That hey, we've tried great managers who are proven winners at the top level and that hasn't worked yet.. So lets go and get a manager who might be on the up but will be happy and grateful to be here."

It was about as stupid as it sounded and it hasn't improved with time.

Worked well with Jol and Poch.

IMHO there is no instant magic answer to this question.

But seeing like you sound like you do have it then go ahead. What’s your foolproof recipe for success at Tottenham Hotspur?
