If scoring the most goals in the entire league isn't "enough to win"....then maybe the "not conceding goals" bit is the real problem, eh?

Most pointedly, if scoring more goals than City isn't enough to be better than 10th, then almost certainly the system is completely fucked.

Stop blaming the attackers. It's either the defence or it's Ange. But we've scored more than anyone in the league. It ain't a lack of goals.
We ship the goals we do BECAUSE we are so attacking. Even our defenders are in the attack.

I wish it was as simple as this but none of the goals we've shipped recently have been because our defenders have been caught up field on a break.

Every goal conceded against Brighton, Palace and now Ipswich have all come with play in and around our box.

Which suggests our defenders just... can't defend. Which is a massive fucking problem for this manager - or anyone else we bring in.

Hello Everyone,

A brilliant experience for the Town fans today. Blown away by the stadium, but that amount of hospitality capacity does make a difference in some way.

I think we were a bit lucky today, but also it was the worse time to play us. MCKenna is the real deal. And he outthought Ange. I think McKenna will be your manager in 2-3 seasons.

Although today wasn’t McKenna ball which is attacking and fluid. It was dogged, and pragmatic.

The reason you lost in my view is three fold, you looked tired Son and Porro for example,
We combined sh!tshousery with excellent game management to quell your resurgence after your goal. AND we had Axel back. He was immense.

correct...

as seen in the past matches - Romero was in the penalty box having a shot from close range

AND yesterday Johnson was closest to the bicyle-kick scorer Szmodix can't even spell his bl00dy name.
Johnson is the last "defender". It's all upside down INVERTED

Ange-Ball means chaos

I know Ange wants us to be a great attacking team and he sets us up that we'll concede but the chances are we'll score more than we let in - this is his philosophy.

So there's no point where he admits we are poor defensively, he never acknowledges that, we keep on letting the same goals in and in doing that it makes our defence look terrible, I like Ange, he seems a decent man, but he never faces up to the fact we let goals in so cheaply.

Today we fielded a world cup winner and a Serie A team of the season player in Udogie in our backline, materially, these are not crap players. I don't want the project to fail or Ange to go, but the losses we're amassing, the goals we're conceding, the point where we are at with Ange, we shouldn't be losing to Ipswich, not at home, not with the quality of this squad over a year in to his tenure.

Completely agree.

Mate Porro was right there too. Neither of them put in a challenge. It was awful individual defending.

Either way it's on the manager to sort out

oooh!

Here's what I wrote last week in the Graun re the upcoming PL matches

Ipswich at home looks like a classic banana skin opportunity for Spurs. ITFC very unlucky not to get something out of the game at Brentford who have a good home record.

McKenna will surely have noticed Dragusin's poor ball skills, and I expect him to be targeted by their press. I would for sure, and I'd prefer Davies alongside Romero.

Spence must play, he needs minutes and Porro needs a rest. Have no idea how many first teamers will play after that torrid match last night at Gala.

Good bets:

ITFC to score first;
both teams to score;

You're welcome!! (Pluto61)

Agree McKenna did well- we've all been discussing that. Our team didn't fight quite as hard on the day though the ref was very poor and let you all get away with a lot of harsh play.

I was under no illusions that Delap is a beast- but many of our fans and apparently some of our players too were not ready for him. I think your young wingers are good.

Be easy with your words around here right now- we are angry as fuck about this. Nothing personal of course- just, quite simply this is a game we should have won.
