It’s more likely than not that things would get worse or no better. What percentage of takeovers lead to quick and thereafter, sustained, success? It’s going to be a small number. And smaller now with the fiscal rules being as stringent as they are.

Again, if someone comes in with the will and the cash, sign me up today.

There is a staleness at the cub that stems from the top , the lack of ambition breeds into the clubs mentality, the ideas have gone

I can’t believe anyone would disagree. Even Levy must be close to resigning as CEO and considering his options…. Something has to give. It’s ridiculous

One of the stand out things of the last transfer window was that “ We got the wage bill down”
Im all for smart business but how has that helped the fans ? Did prices go down ? Nope

English National Investment Company have invested pretty close to bugger all & gained financial clout off the back of Tottenham Hotspur using our name , investing in infrastructure some of which has bugger all to do with Football .

It used to piss me off but I’m pretty much past caring ., I’m happy when we win but it’s worn me down , kind of go into games expecting some disaster or capitulation , often to the point of hilarity . Does that make me a bad fan ? Of course not I’ve just realized that there is far more important things than an entertainment complex & property development company thinly vailed as a soccerbakl team.

Agree

Wage bill reduction is fine as long as it’s preparing for either an immediate sale, or creating a lower cost foundation to invest and transform

We are just drifting, rudderless plop floating down the Thames

I'll happily role the dice at this stage.
Yep. The alternative of just carrying on as we are really isnt a viable option. Just want someone to come in with fresh ideas, prioritise the football side and try to instill a winning mentality in the club. Its basic stuff but things Levy and his band of nodding dogs have long since forgotten. Even if spend is exactly the same those things alone would be a massive leap forwards

I think some people just can't bring themselves to admit they've been so wrong about something for so long.

Having spent years on this platform arguing with and ridiculing me and other critics who've seen through the scam they just haven't got the fucking balls to hold their hands up and say "guys, you were right after all"

If they did, they'd get more respect.

I think there’s a degree of this for sure. I was levy in for ages, probably up until 2018/19ish. I tolerated his letting the manager down on transfers because of the stadium build. But some of the behind the scene incompetence I heard about that on top of everything else that played out on the field it was obvious more and more that it’s all beyond him.

But it’s obvious what is going on now with the club. I’m sceptical around all this talk of selling off part of it as well, they have no clue on what the value of something is in a market place. They’ll over value the club and want too much for it as well, whether through greed or because they don’t really want to give up control.

Yet again, Spurs fail at the simplest of hurdles. And once again, so called professional players making mistakes you'd be shocked to see on a Sunday league pitch.

Blame to manager, blame to owners. And repeat.

The reality is, Spurs are not a winning club. The players, the coaches and staff do not care enough about Spurs to do what it takes. Spurs is ENIC's club, not theirs. It is a job, and nothing more to them. It's a steppingstone.

Unlike Manchester, Barca, Madrid, Liverpool, Newcastle; Tottenham has zero identity. A small, impoverished borough of London, to which none of the players and staff have any connection whatsoever. Not a single Spurs players would ever say they dreamt of playing for Tottenham Hotspur one day. We cannot even find ex-players outside of Ossie and King (who are on the payroll) to say anything passionate about the club.

Reaching the Champions League final will likely be the pinnacle of Spurs success for our lifetimes.

It's clear that the players, nor the coaches (nor the fans) do not like Levy et al, and I suspect this translates onto the pitch. For that reason, only a total top down rebuild of the club could have any hope of success; and that is never going to happen.
Gareth Bale says Spurs were the best club he played for and is the closest to his heart. Hazard Roberts all are on X talking about their love of the club. What do you mean by identity? I think you make very little sense to be honest and this thread should be moved to the ENIC thread Admin Admin Spurs real fans understand fully the only issue we have he is called Daniel Levy he needs to hand over to someone who cares about winning it's very simple.

These are very fair points tbh. A lot of the levy out crowd are levy out at all costs, but we could always end up an Everton after.

I'm not levy in by any means, but it seems that there's this dreamland, especially what I see online that we would be the next man city if he sold up. It's very possible it wouldn't end up that way.

But it’s worth rolling the dice isn’t it?

We can’t just keep treading water. It is worth the risk.

I don’t believe they want to sell yet anyway, if at all.

For those on here who think 25 years is not long enough for success let’s not forget we are not their first go at this malarkey . They have owned or had large shareholdings in 5 or 6 other clubs, so I think we are not the only fans to think this Levy bloke / ENIC ownership are a bit shit at their jobs.

Just how long do we want to give him / them , I don’t mean protest they are not going anywhere . However I think taking a metaphorical bullet for him on a forum does seem strange to me , especially after all this time .

You have been given numerous explanations hundreds of times over thousands of pages. The fact that you either can't or won't understand them, i.e. understand that people see things in different ways and some people have an opinion that is different to yours, is not the fault of those 36 people.

The people still catching them bullets are just stuck because they dug themselves into such an extent their egos can now not simply accept the magnitude of their error...we have seen this before but we are not allowed to mention it here.

Confession is a good for the soul , or so I am told . Personally I am absolutely perfect so have never had to test the validity of that statement .

A huge amount of people conned in pyramid schemes still believe they were right and wait for a return on their investment.

I also think at this stage its contrarian wind up stuff to irritate John Thomas as much as anything.

Just because a club has many loyal supporters, does it mean they deserve success?

Did anyone really become a Spurs fan in the last 30 years thinking they were backing a winning club?
Spurs have always been plucky underdogs.

Football is entertainment. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose; and you get to banter with your mates in between.
Likewise, fans who DO have the luxury of 'picking and choosing' the most successful clubs ARE rewarded with trophies, by virtue of the fact they hand picked them for that very reason!

Having a loyal fanbase doesn't, - and nor should it - guarantee trophies, but seeing swathes of confused Man City fans (in London) recently, not quite knowing how to process the letters: LLLL in succession is as hilarious as it was seeing all those Gooners seething once their 'invincibles' eventually got beaten!

Experiencing guaranteed success doesn't prepare you for the lean times...
Likewise, watching a team rooted in failure only prepares you to fear the worst each time!

Yes, we could ALL cherry pick the team at the Top and just follow them - and have a soulless Trophy parade in May...
...but we could ALL drive in the Hard shoulder, undertaking everyone else and get to our destination and 2 hours earlier... but we choose not to.

The problem with all of this, is that loyalty, honour, and pride have no real meaning any more.

Not only that, but they won't get as well rewarded like greed, money, fickleness and complete lack of self awareness does!

So who you gonna choose?

Why is it always all about point scoring against other fans on here? Seems most people only care about slagging other fans off for having a different view on things. Its worse than the house of commons.

Suppose Levy would smile at that though. Keep feeding everyone scraps while he gets richer, and let them argue among themselves

I’m going to assume that our tiny little Count Dracula is still a consistent presence in the club training centre, most days rocking up and giving the lads his stories of how his (millionaire) family were so impoverished that his place at Cambridge was really in doubt only for Danny Boy to turn it all around. Inspiring stuff indeed. I am thankful he shared that with the world.

To be slightly more serious, the combination of Lange, Munn and Levy being your senior leadership is desperate.

That post defeats its one of these three that pick up the motivation along with Thick Dundee does not seem to be very credible in an elite football environment.

Looking back at the Amazon puff piece will probably do the best job ever of highlighting what Levy is like, Haunting the place and sucking the life out of everyone. The others. Well…Al Pacino in Any Given Sunday they certainly are not.
