Yet again, Spurs fail at the simplest of hurdles. And once again, so called professional players making mistakes you'd be shocked to see on a Sunday league pitch.

Blame to manager, blame to owners. And repeat.

The reality is, Spurs are not a winning club. The players, the coaches and staff do not care enough about Spurs to do what it takes. Spurs is ENIC's club, not theirs. It is a job, and nothing more to them. It's a steppingstone.

Unlike Manchester, Barca, Madrid, Liverpool, Newcastle; Tottenham has zero identity. A small, impoverished borough of London, to which none of the players and staff have any connection whatsoever. Not a single Spurs players would ever say they dreamt of playing for Tottenham Hotspur one day. We cannot even find ex-players outside of Ossie and King (who are on the payroll) to say anything passionate about the club.

Reaching the Champions League final will likely be the pinnacle of Spurs success for our lifetimes.

It's clear that the players, nor the coaches (nor the fans) do not like Levy et al, and I suspect this translates onto the pitch. For that reason, only a total top down rebuild of the club could have any hope of success; and that is never going to happen.

Well then, as Kenneth Williams wrote:
"Oh what's the bloody point?"

We'll never even fluke a Leicester, let alone dominate for years like City, Utd, Liverpool and the Arse have done at various points in history.

If we're a nothing club, then maybe we deserve nothing fans
... Not ones who have spent a lifetime (not to mention fortune) supporting, and loving this club, despite ALL the heartache that goes with it.

Tell me, who should I go support next?

I see that Forest are doing well...
Still, there's always the usual suspects, I'm off to go support one of them.
I dunno what I'm gonna do with all my old Spurs menerobillia...
There's always e-Bay I guess!

Right, I'm off down 'The Armoury' first thing, to get myself kitted out with my NEW CLUBS gear!

I won't even have to move house to start supporting them... they're only down the road!

Fuck Spurs eh?

COYG!!!

Just because a club has many loyal supporters, does it mean they deserve success?

Did anyone really become a Spurs fan in the last 30 years thinking they were backing a winning club? Spurs have always been plucky underdogs.

Football is entertainment. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose; and you get to banter with your mates in between.

We've had several players come through the academy which will have obviously dreamed of it.

Outside of that, why the fuck does it matter?

It matters because to build a winning team, you need loyalty. A player whose agent isn't always looking for their next move.

Do you really think Romero is loyal to Spurs? Any of our squad for that matter? If Madrid or Barca matched contract terms; how many of our squad do you think would choose to stay at Spurs?

It's clear from every interview that the players and coaches do not like Levy / the leadership. Why would they want to win them a trophy?

I think you're being a little naive. How many of City's players do you think grew up with Sylvain Distin or Richard Dunne on their walls? How many at Liverpool grew up dreaming of Anfield?

Most footballers in the world over the past 30 years grew up dreaming of playing for United. What good is that doing them now?

Well I can tell you I have supported Spur for just over 50 years and I couldn't change no matter how pissed off I was .
I have said for years that the issue starts at the top , a winning mentality starts at the top . You will never see a winning club that has an owner or club management that didn't show it wanted to win , since Levy in particular there has been no desire to do what ever is required to win trophies at Spurs .
When it is so obvious that the owners aren't in it to win no matter what , then no matter what anybody on the playing staff says it is in their head .
Now I reconciled myself many years ago that whilst Levy and co were here that I wasn't going to see us lift the premiership trophy , my bets hope was for a flukey cup , and we got one once , but that memory is fading . But I don't let it stop me just enjoying the football .
I like Ange because he says he wins things and that is his only goal , but I'm realistic , he is hamstrung as much as the rest have been .
So now I try to enjoy my spurs as much as possible , and that means not getting to high when we win and not getting too low when we lose , but that being said I hate results like today , I'm just human . But I try to keep a certain level of perspective .
But I see people going ballistic and calling the manager all sorts of horrendous names , for Christs sake he's a human being , with a wife and kids , just like a lot of us . The same with the players . We should show some restraint in the vitriol .
I'm not saying they shouldn't be critiqued , certainly should , but perspective is needed .
If you really want to vent it starts at the top . Until that changes not much will , no matter who we bring in to manage .

We could be a big, winning club. All the ingredients are there. But we have a head chef who's an incompetent and a penny pincher, and a sous chef who's completely out of his depth. And worse yet, the head chef and his pop own the place so they aren't going anywhere. No wonder the gravy ain't good

Liverpool are one of the biggest and most popular clubs on the planet. Of course, players want to play there. Liverpool as a City has strong a cultural identity which can be seen with how Klopp embraced the City and its people. I've never seen a Spurs coach fall in love with the Fried Chicken and Kebab shops of Tottenham high road.

You only have to see the City Documentary on Amazon to see the difference between the clubs. On one hand, you have a party atmosphere at City; and at Spurs, its likely a graveyard of introverts. Of course, City brought their success by overspending and cheating - but they did hire a bunch of mercenaries to do that. I don't see Tevez kissing the City badge anymore.

Sure, Spurs could go out and pay 300k+ a week for the very best players in every position - and sure, they would probably start winning trophies - but that isn't going to happen under the financial scrutiny of the EPL now. Spurs simply cannot convince the best players, when the package is the same who do you choose - United, Spurs, Liverpool, City, Madrid, Barca? Players come to Spurs because none of the other top clubs wanted them - because they aren't good enough.

We ought to find out who's still saying Levy In at this stage and have them studied by teams of scientists

Bollocks

This isn't a "Harsh Reality". It's trivial, self flagellating bollocks to get off and find some enjoyment in misery.

Now I suppose thats fine. We all wallow after a bad defeat. But to quote from the gospel of Woolwich and Chelsea fans, that we're a shit club and will always be a shit club so should just give up even trying and should accept living in a state of no hope, because we are inherently sooo less deserving than fans of those other wonderful clubs is just, really quite insulting to fans who give a big portion of their lives to the club. Be that financial (Some of the highest ticket prices in football), time or energy.

Have zero identity? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt because you might be very young. But Tottenham are one of the few clubs that have a clear and recognised identity outside of the clubs bubble. Everyone who isn't still at school age, knows what a "Spurs" player is and looks like.

Ex players don't have anything passionate to say about the club? Not even a stretching of the truth. Just an outright lie.

Enic are NOT Tottenham Hotspur. We're one of the most famous and most successful clubs in English football. The FIRST to win the double. The FIRST british club to win a trophy in europe. We're a club that was admired by Johan Cruyff. Tottenham Hotspur is a GREAT club. And we shouldn't have to fucking apologise for it to appease rival cunts, the shitty football press or even our own "fans" who have a humiliation fetish.
