Ex England Manager with no buy out clause - Levy would be all over this !
We'd be boring as fuck, but there'd be no drama.
Probably just able about to coach this lot to 5th or 6th. Will beat all the teams we are expected to beat. Will lose all the games against technically good sides.
Some fans would be happier with 12th and more "exciting" football. Like yesterday was somehow exciting.

Look at the schedule. The discussion about going 3rd place is completely unnecessary.

City will spank us after the break, because of their negative streak and the away record under Ange.
Still have both games against Liverpool and Chelsea, which is a clusterfuck everytime we face them. And top of that the away games against Woolwich and West Ham. You could add Nottingham to that list, they will be organized and Nuno is certainly looking to get a win against us.

Leaguewise we are going to be aiming for 8th or 9th.

Fuck me lets just hope that this squad pulls themselves together for the cup matches, to atleast have something to look forward to.
I'd give us a chance of winning all them games. We are just so unpredictable. That makes home games like Ipswich a banana skin but also means we have the potential to go to the Etihad and get a result.

I'd argue that this Tottenham side are currently fixture proof. I've never seen anything like it before.

You must have your head up your own arse if you think we have a chance of winning all the games against Chelsea, Livepool and City.
What the fuck have we actually done to warrant that belief?
Don't say "beat Liverpool" when they had 9 men and a goal ruled out. Don't say "beat city in the cup" when they made their intentions perfectly clear.

Unless we are winning trophies, I’d rather have Ange’s bipolar mid table football over Southgate coming 5th. I don’t have much faith in Gary winning cups either.

No chance we win all them games as we aren't consistent. You've misunderstood me. But we could easily do well in them games. I'd be surprised if we lost all 3

Its the most frustrating season I can remember. But, the reason its so frustrating is because we know how good we can be and we really should be at least 3rd in the league right now. Just feels like a massive opportunity missed.

I do believe we are going in the right direction but my god the journey is bumpy. Very hard to stay calm and keep the emotions in check.

This opportunity missed with 3rd shite needs to stop mate. We are never in a million years fighting for top 3/4 under Ange, if we had won yesterday it would have just been a temporary false position. Just like Forest won't finish the season fighting for top 4. The last 49 games quite clearly suggest that we will be finishing around 10th to 12th unless there is a huge upturn in results, and who honestly thinks that is coming?

It's all smoke and mirrors from the Ange in people to make it sound like we are actually on the verge of something, we aren't. And days like yesterday just show that even more.

I don't see how we can be going in the right direction either, considering the trajectory is quite clear we are getting worse under Ange the longer he has been here, not better.

My prediction based on the next 6 fixtures is he will be sacked by Xmas. I can't see more than 3 or 4 points, maybe 6 absolute maximum and that will be by beating Fulham at home and Southampton away, and that is being optimistic. I could easily see us getting turned over at Southampton and Fulham doing a number on us at home. Will be practically half the season gone and we will be on circa 22 points, shocking.

I'd rather neither tbh.

Fair enough.
I would say that 1.5 seasons in, it's more likely than not now that we lose all those games without troubling them.
In his first half season he had the element of surprise.
We haven't got that now and any coach that knows how to coach will school us.

1.45 ppg this season is 55 points over a 38 game season.
Last season that was 9th
But our PPG is flattering at best. Haven't played Liverpool, City or Chelsea, lost Vs Brighton, Arse and Newcastle already.
We're very much on a bottom half trajectory. I can't see Levy allowing it.

We need to be realistic, Spurs are doing what teams that become too young all at once do. They aren't consistent, they yield to pressure, and don't always remember how to play defense. We've seen both very positive thing and very disappointing efforts. Now we need to see if Spurs can keep the positive aspects of the new system and work the negatives out on the practice pitch and through smart transfers. It was always a mistake to not have enough veteran players, but that's a different issue than whether Spurs can win with this manager and system.

What does fixture proof mean?

If you mean we are unpredictable that’s the DNA of Spurs. Friends who support clubs that are proper neutrals have grown up enjoying watching us play on TV as frankly anything can happen.

The reason we have not won the league since 1961 is mainly due to this unpredictable nature.

Nuno got sacked with 15 points from 10 games. Ange has 16 points from 11, but is in his second year. Not good.

A few successes at midweek can only take a manager so far. Is still having the support of some of the fans what’s keeping him, the perception that the football is more enjoyable? Understated, I don’t find this enjoyable.

Nono in his first 10 had to play City, Chelsea, Woolwich and United. Think that United were as ropey as us and us losing was a blessing.
We have had an easier 11 games than he had and taken less PPG from them.

We're in trouble.

Can't see why it's not obvious.

We're dead patchy but so is everyone at the moment, bar Liverpool.

I don't know why, but I've got a funny feeling Ange will last the season if we continue to WLWLWL thing.

We'll end up about 8th and I reckon that might see him get the bullet at the end of the season.

If our form properly nosedives Levy moves quickly though.

I think it depends on how he does in the Cups

Providing we’re top half I don’t think that Levy gives a fuck as long as the stadium is full, merchandise is selling and he doesn’t get any abuse!

Do you remember the reaction to that loss at home to United?

It was all "we want Levy out" and very loud booing that got Nuno sacked within days. Nobody was hanging around to do the Free From Desire nonsense.

You have to hand it to Levy.

We weren't ready for Nuno after where Poch had taken us but he knew we would embrace mediocrity eventually.

It is easier to fool somebody than persuade them they have been fooled.

We've scored the most goals in the league.

Everton 4. Villa 4, Man U 3 Brentford 3. We are a decent attacking unit - when we can be bothered to show up.

It's everything else that is the issue.
Exactly!

We don't have a pressing need to strenghten the attacking positions.

What is extremely pressing tho, are our defensive positions!

We need a new GK, RB, LB, CB, and a DMC!

And it would be very welcomed if some of those signings were real leaders on the pitch. And why not world class, we should be able to afford it.

Almost 5 years since Poch was sacked. He had less points after 10 games, but his only losses were Vs better teams than Ipswich and Palace. And he had overseen a Champions League final a few months before so had charity in the bank.
