The lesson is clear. Never use international players before an international break.

A question to the Ange Out Mob.

Just suppose we had Pep as our coach and Spurs lost 5 games in a row.

Would you be demanding that Pep be sacked?
No offence but this is the dumbest thing I've seen for some time? Wouldn't it simply be about context.

OK let's play the thought experiment, would I want Pep out if he lost 5 in a row having won us the ECL and multiple leagues? NO...which unless you turned up with this particular coach ( that's not you right?) you would know, because many of the people you glibly call "Ange out" refused point blank for months to couternanace the dismissal of a coach who got to us a ECL final. Even when wheels fell completely off and the bloke was broken. I wanted to give him a sabbatical ffs 🤣

The context being Pochettino tested in the EPL, managed in La liga had relative success at Spurs( finals semi competitive for titles)Let alone the former head coach of Bayern and Barcelona!! Ffs do you not see how wildly silly a comparison this is?

I'll be brutal about it you will have to accept people don't think highly of the SPL, or Digeredoo Rovers, or the J League so of course they are less inclined to have faith in a man who's CV comprises of success at this less rareified level. This shouldn't even be controversial.

So about 18 pages of Angebois saying "told you so"

So how about this then. You all blamed the players when we weren't good enough to beat Palace, Ipswich, Leicester etc. But they ARE good enough to beat last seasons Champions comfortably?

Both sides of this argument are as guilty as the other.
Angebois praise him when we win and tear into the players when we lose, vice versa for the doubters.

How about this for a shocking fact that needs addressing from both the players and the coach.

Wolves 2 -1 Spurs
Fulham 3 - 0 Spurs
Newcastle 2 - 1 Spurs
Brighton 3 - 2 Spurs
Spurs 1 - 2 Ipswich

Last 5 games before the international break, all losses.
In some cases some truly horrendous games.

This might be a crazy idea, but maybe it's time we bench some of the players who are not putting a shift in during the match preceding the break? The likes of Romero, Son and a few others aren't playing close to 100% in those games.

Maddison wasn't even going away on international duty and he got 4 minutes against Ipswich.

Yes the players should be motivated and give 100%, but it isn't the reality and that's where coaching comes into play.

Luckily there isn't another international break for months now so that isn't a concern.

With that in mind, I'm expecting to not see these dreadful showings for a while. And if we do, it raises more questions.

what hallmarks did he have over yesterday? maddison had the game of his spurs career that set the tone. what of the goals were a product of 'angeball'? the last two are counter attacks which is the complete opposite of what its mean to be and the first 2 were moments of individual brilliance...in fact you can sort of say the 3rd was largely down to individual brilliance from kulu while also being a part counter attacking goal.

This guy is obviously a forum joke at this point, but for any serious person watching yesterday, there were numerous recognisable elements of the game model. Bravery in trying to play out from the back, constant attempts to break lines, a generally high tempo, the high line when we had the ball in their half, an aggressive press which lead directly to the second goal, hitting wide areas early and often, etc. I mean if you drew up an Angeball goal, it wouldn’t be much different to that third with one winger finding the other with a low cross.

The team played direct and at times on the break against Brentford and Man Utd as well, were those performances not Angeball? That’s news to me.

At any rate, even if there were certain changes to the way he set up the team, that’s a good thing right? You can’t one second complain he’s not adaptable and then bitch and moan like a moaning bitch when he does adapt, especially when it works. That’s clown behaviour.

“Ange is one dimensional and can’t adapt!”

*adapts resulting in a 4-0 win away at the champions*

“No! What was that! That’s not Angeball!”

Weeeeirdos.

West Ham we went 1-0 down didn’t we early on? Regardless we struggle most against teams that park the bus , it’s not unique to us though , most teams will struggle against a deep block

west ham were destroyed in a frantic 10 minutes, i promise this is a better game for your brain to choose to spring to mind

spurs have scored the most goals so lets not get carried away calling it a struggle

kulu loves playing under ange and has grown under him, his individual brilliance should be credited to ange

but even if ange got lucky and the players did everything, then that makes up for getting unlucky against brighton when the individual mistakes cost us the game after some brilliant angeball

im pretty sure if i go back to that game thread you were blaming ange, so don't be an unfair person

What a dumbass post. Literally the dumbest thing you’ve ever posted, and that takes some effort.

Somehow he’s got to get these players winning 4 or 5 league games in a row. Some of the players obviously think others aren’t pulling their weight every game though going by this quote from DK:

I’m sure I also read a quote from Kulu recently about the levels in training which almost made it sound a bit like some others don’t put the effort in there and it holds us back.

There seems to be something in some players wanting it and others not being too fussed, which could explain the inconsistency if true.

Incredible performance and will give him all the praise for it, playing Kulu wide to get sarr and Maddison on the pitch was essential, but a win next week will do more for convincing me we have a chance going places with this manager.

We need to show some consistency now, every good result has been followed by an absolute shit show the following week. Fulham at home is massive and with the league the way it is this season we can put ourselves in a really good position if we can go on a little run.

“This is how we have to play every game.If not, we’re just stupid”. 😅

I bet that went down well with the lads.

shots fired kangaroo GIF by Outback Steakhouse

If anyone of the lads took that the wrong way instead of fronting up and thinking ‘yeah we need to sort ourselves out and be on it every week’ then they’re mentally weak and shouldn’t be at the club.

Kulu is spot on.
