I think the thing like most about this conversation is just it's utter lack of nuance. I've repeatedly said I'm a massive fan of Ange the bloke. If I could pick us a head coach that imbued what I want the club to 'feel' like he is it.

I'm equally clear that in it's purest iterations Angeball has not been a run away success. What we saw yesterday we have seen before and mostly against City. Adjustments in approach and the starting position of the center backs MAKES us harder to beat.

Stiffen the middle with a double pivot that has the capacity to protect the centerbacks ( and boy does Sarr have the capacity) we are better. I also saw an acknowledgement of game state, way more game management, and a willingness to break up cities play and kill the clock. IT WAS FANTASTIC. But we had 42% possession and City uniquely force this on Ange. Let's see if he will be similarly pragmatic going forward.
Completely agree with this.

Yesterday was a brilliant result, one of the best matches I've seen in ages. However, to kick on we must follow it up with beating the mid table teams. No point demolishing City and then losing to Fulham.

I feel like I’m one of the few (on here at least) who has been 100% ange in all the way.

Time to give someone the time and resources to try and really make this work.

It’s not like flip flopping between managers every 18 months has done us much good has it. And all the underlying data shows we are improving in every area.

He needs support and he needs a better squad. We are still miles off the teams we are trying to compete with in terms of squad depth.

I'd say that yesterday's win stemmed from the defence.
Simply because they defended as a unit, much more cohesion.
The interceptions from Davies started the ball rolling for the goals and the long pass from Dragusin was exceptional.
However, will they be able to do it over a long period? Who knows.
Definitely.

"Obviously, the four losses they’d had were away from home, so being at home there’d be an energy in the stadium."

“We were going to have to sort of weather the storm, which I thought we did fairly well, and then we just grew into the game."

Ange sent us in with a defensive mindset from the word go. I think that sort of counts as a plan B?

He got it so right yesterday, down to bringing on another roadrunner in the dying minutes to really twist the knife in.

10/10

sitting back against angeball means you get smacked 4-0 or 4-1
I disagree , the problem is when teams park the bus and don’t let us play football, it’s more the physical teams we struggle against - Ipswich and Palace spring to mind , I remember the last season at the original Lane , teams would try and park the bus but we would just steam roll them , get the early goal and their plan goes out the window, obviously it’s easier said than done but we need to be patient and just hope we can keep on improving the squad over the next few windows.

Fantastic yesterday. We played some great stuff and appeared less gung ho which was encouraging to see. The fullbacks (despite the goal) seemed to actually be full backs which has to be the way forward now. This has to be a line in the sand moment though, can we push on and beat Fulham and Bournemouth and get a consistant run going.

On another note wheras last season was generally beat the bottom half teams lose to the top half this season is more we can dismantle passive sides that let us play no matter how good but are struggling against agressive sides that get about us.

you really are a fucking moron aren't ya hahahah. yea the most embarrassing game in the clubs history is the reason we beat a city side that is on its last legs and without the best player in the world! its lost its last 5 you idiot, going on like its fresh off winning the treble. clown.
We had both our first Choice centre backs out against Haaland the freak!
City unbeaten at home in 51 games

And there it is...We need to prove it against a treble winning side in their prime with no missing players.

These people are becoming memes.

Posters like daveyboy88 have just become caricatures at this point. Only point in reading their posts is to laugh at how ridiculous they are.

Notice how some of the scrotes are desperate to once again move the goalposts.

Not allowed to enjoy wins against sides like Everton because…it’s Everton.

Not allowed to enjoy wins against Villa because they’re not part of the BIG teams.

Now not allowed to enjoy beating City away because they’re in a poor run of form and Rodri was missing (our injury list doesn’t count, apparently).

They’re turd posters, and not worth anyones time of day.

A question to the Ange Out Mob.

Just suppose we had Pep as our coach and Spurs lost 5 games in a row.

Would you be demanding that Pep be sacked?

I have always felt Pep would never work with us. He is a genius but he plays a way that requires the elite of the elite to play football at the standard of the elite of the elite. With the very best he is the very best. Like a chef who has only worked with the best ingredients and now suddenly is working with left overs and scrapes.

Pep would demand Wirtz and we would give him Eze. It would be a disaster, I think bigger than Jose or Conte. It wouldn’t be Pep’s fault either, he just wouldn’t fit our level of financing or ambition.

Unbelievable result, now please win the next game or it means nothing. I am very much on the fence with Ange, but days like yesterday show what we can be under him. Find some consistency now.
