If any other postecoglou fanboys want to just out themselves here that is very helpful.
Be glad to see the back of that type of “fan”.

No interest in our club whatsoever.

After the Mourinho nut jobs don’t need any fucking Australian ones hanging around the place.

What about Australian Mourinho nutjobs? Can we... sorry: "they"... hang about the place? :cautious:

We have to stop finding excuses for poor defending.
Roma equaliser where 3 players allowed someone to tap it in was, not down to injuries or age it's basic defending.
The team always gives the opposition a chance as we saw on Thursday and many other games.
It could easily have been 5-5, that might be great for a neutral sheer excitement but, teams that generally win leagues will see that out 2-0.
You can't gauge what he has done in shit leagues before, premier league is a lot tougher with higher standard of players across every team.
We don't know what team will turn up each game, will they win tomorrow possibly, will they lose tomorrow again possibly. We are in to the second season now and really should be laying down foundations of consistancy.
And yet the team are nowhere near that, win one, then follow up with a piss poor performance next.
I am not asking for him to go because, who else can work under this set up, ange is ok with the young players who reduce the wage bill, who out there wanting to challenge themselves would come here.
Many fans were so fed up and disillusioned with previous defensive set ups that, this all out attacking football is a breath of fresh air, even if the games are wide open like ours are that are frantic and turns into a mess.

I get some frustration of poor defending. I think at times we have shot ourselves in the foot, but more because of individual errors rather than teams killing us due to high lines etc. See Romero (many examples), Udogie (Brighton).
Lets be fair though, we are not the only team that gives up many chances. Brighton had many against Liverpool even, and they have a very tight defense. Of course its always our focus on us, and it seems worse sometimes. Football is a game of chaos though and I think is more exciting and interesting that way, rather than the ultra cynical side. Such as Villa... I mean for all the praise they get, they came to us and played in a disgusting way... and they still got absolutely battered...
So wishing for us to tread similar paths is not a guarantee of success by any means...
Right now we seem a little hit and miss... I'm not so clappy I don't see it. Took near a week to get over Ipswich, it feels like my insides get ripped out when we play like that. I feel like people are getting a little too angry though, like its all they are, maybe they never calm down and look at a big picture etc. The stats and eye test do support that we are improving. It is slow, but again the light squad, injuries, and extra matches on top is making progress a little tougher.
Roma was not a piss poor performance either, that's very harsh in my opinion. Thinking they're gonna rock up with their pants down is silly. The new manager effect coupled with Ranieri was a big factor, and they certainly did not play like their form suggested. They played like a big European side, which they are. Ange is correct though, if we took our chances we go on and win that. That we kept missing such good ones, really emboldened them I thought. Recently we are finishing much better, but it just didn't quite happen against Roma. The last minute goal was a killer, and always feels worse and probably clouds peoples opinions. Just 3 minutes more and we would be praising them for a gritty well dug out victory.

Nobody remembers the "amazing" football mate, people remember the trophy and that’s it.

When people talk of prime Barca they don't normally just say oh they won quite a few bits.
That style will be remembered for ages and generations...

We still fondly think of Pochettino and zero trophies. So yeah a style and ethos of playing is important, but please lord can we also have some big shiny trophies this time...

Understand what you are saying but, that defending the other night was criminal and so typical of the way we are.
We have been very fortunate in many games that, other teams have not punished us as they should have done, city probably should have been 2-0 before we even got close to their penalty box.
Our games are way too open and exposed, I don't want to see 5-4 what is the fucking point in that, shows both teams are soft as shit.
Ange wants to be the great entertainer then let him, it's his position on the line if it goes south.

Ange "You will all miss me when I'm gone".

I'm all onboard with the theory, fists pumping, but I remain unconvinced that we'll achieve it on a consistent basis with the squad depth and quality we currently possess. That's the biggest issue for me. If Ange had the best available, then, ok, maybe I can see it working.

I agree we are very light in places... but I'm not thinking we need galaticos to make this work. We are having some awful luck with injuries. Its murderous luck that we get at times.
Even having most of our squad fit would be a huge help, and I think would allow us to go on some longer runs, and in the PL as well. We do require a bit more quality though as well as just some bods back, but guessing/hoping summer will be where we can do something.

Exactly.

I want to caveat by saying that just because other teams give up chances, it doesn't mean we should.

But I'm not sure what people genuinely expect from a football team. Every team gives up chances, every team rides their luck and is saved by poor finishing.

It's football in the most competitive league in the world in, so far, one of the most competitive seasons i can remember.

It's fair to want us to be more compact, not play such a high line, cut out individual errors, but we are, defensively, one of the best teams in the league so if we aren't coaching our team to defend then 80% of teams aren't either.

It just doesn't work like that though.
