What was the point in playing Kulusevski as a false 9 throughout the entire pre-season if we don't actually put it to the test in a real game?

Could use Deki's strength to actually keep the ball in their half.
Fulham are set up in a typical pragmatic fashion 4-2-3-1, not committing all their players going forward, attempting measured possession, and various attacking plays (wing, underlap/overlap FB/corners), with Raul taking up a variety of positions through the middle and on the wing.
We on the other hand have a pure counter attacking forward three right now, no presence in the box, and have a midfield tilted towards physicality. We're struggling to do much other than try and counter down the wing right now.
Fulham lead in corners and chances created so far. Their fbs have so far snuffed out our wingers.
We'll see how it all turns out but it seems they've set up quite well to nullify us. If we can break through this we can crack the game open, but if we don't score, it'll turn into one of those typical games where we struggle.

If Deki was ready to start he would have, he must be very close to getting an injury for him to be taken out. I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t come on at all.
Need to start putting Lankshear in there as the back up striker and keep Son on the left. Two fluffed chances and can’t keep the ball
