well i guess we recall things differently. I recall alot of anger that we were screwed up slot and nagelsmann before hand for a guy no one had heard of. wasn't until the board was flooded with celtic supporters that some came around to the idea of the appointment
I speak only personally but I was quite keen on the appointment - I don't like this idea of judging people because they 'only' managed in such and such league: I'd heard good things about Ange, so was reasonably satisfied. Then the opening 10 games or so came, and we all got carried away...

In fact, I can see positives. He seems genuine about bringing through young players. We play good football at times. When we win, we win well. Barring a catastrophic run in form I'd keep him 'til the end of the season.

My concern is the apparent inability to grow and adapt. He seems wedded to his style and sometimes when we've performed above expectations it's because his hand has been forced. The Celebrity Masterchef parody summed it up well for me.

The big problem however is NOT Poste, it's Levy/ENIC not backing our managers and our indifferent recruitment. Until we get that sorted we will always be also rans. As they aren't leaving, I would reassess at the end of the season. If we continue as we are I would bring in someone more pragmatic who can make a team more than the sum of its parts.

Are people seriously banging the drum for Ange out because of yesterday's result?

People expected us to just comfortably beat Fulham without Vicario, VDV, Romero, Bentancur, Solanke, Rich, Odobert and Moore.

Would Woolwich beat Fulham without Raya, Saliba, Gabriel, Rice, Havertz, Jesus, Trossard and Sterling?

Would Liverpool beat Fulham without Alisson, Van Dijk, Konate, Macallister, Nunez, Jota, Gakpo and Chiesa?

Would City beat Fulham without Ederson, Dias, Stones, Rodri, Haaland, Grealish, Savinho, Doku?

Have some perspective please. This is a dreadful injury crisis.

To be fair Redknapp was an extreme talented manager, he made West Ham actually good which is remarkable, was well happy when we got him, he is also a master of working with whatever he has got. I don’t see any of the managers we are linked with remotely Redknapp level.
Yes. Redknapp was very good - hugely underrated by a portion of our fanbase, a master man-manager fantastic at improving players, the easy no 2 in my lifetime after Poch. I'm not quite old enough to remember Burkinshaw.

can you answer the following questions please:

1) why did we lose to Brighton after thrashing united?

2) why did we lose to Crystal Palace after thrashing west ham?

3) why did we lose to Ipswich after thrashing Aston Villa?

The injury crisis was not present then so can you elaborate on why you think we lost all 3 games.

if we lose to Bournemouth, Chavski and get dumped out the cup by United do you think he should still be in charge?
yeah he gets this season regardless and then reassess in the Summer. We've a young team and Levy knows he cheaped out in the transfer window and thats come back to bite him now with all the injuries and we're relying on players who are midtable players at best. Ange will get time to turn it around

I actually blame the players and lack of leaders in the dressing room for all 3 of them results. Very young and naive team who are just not ready to win yet. Bumpy project

He might but history tells us there is no certainty so i really dont know where this 'he gets the season regardless' has come from. He needs results to get the season. We've had 12 permanent managers under ENIC and 10 have been sacked during the season. 1 of those who wasnt was Sherwood who was only appointed the previous December.

but you blamed the Fulham result on injuries? yet i've given you 3 other occasions we did the exact same thing without an injury crisis and your response is that it's the fault of the players only? not really making sense is it.

yeah you handpicked 3 results mate. Why not handpick the 4-0 win at the Etihad or the 3-0 win at Old trafford.

If we lose 3 or 4 games in a row then he might be in trouble but thats not going to happen because we are actually a good team. Once we get all our players back then we can beat anyone

Yes, I'm going by the logic that Levy is a smart man who has learned from his mistakes.

If Levy is an idiot with an ego then he will throw Ange under the bus and sack him.

so if those results play out you'd only want Ange in because the alternative is Mason? not because you actually really believe in him?

No I still think he'll succeed - it depends on the context as well - if we lose those games missing half our team then I don't think that's a good barometer to sack him and it would be entirely silly to sack him 2 weeks after we beat City 4-0

Normally you'd sack a manager after a period of bad results if the team have downed tools and stopped running for him, I don't see that at the moment.

He won't be sacked if we lose them and rightly so anyway.

We are a long long way off that. I'm genuinely baffled by the Ange Outters

Handpicked? are you alright?
I'm picking our next league fixture straight after we've thrashed a team. You're blaming it on inuries yet the same thing has happened on THREE other occasions.

They werent always mistakes. Jol for Santini, Redknapp for Ramos, Conte for Nuno. Even Ramos for Jol won us a league cup although ultimately shit. The only real howler was Mourinho for Poch.
Short term fixes that ultimately got us nowhere in the long term. Thats what Conte was. Jol, Redknapp and Poch were brilliant but every other manager we had ultimately failed in terms of progressing us as a team. I think Ange has progressed us.

This is a long term project - we aren't signing ready made players who can help us to win now. We are buying all young players and thinking 3/4 years ahead and the style of football we want is what Ange offers. It might not work in the end, but thats the club goal. We aren't going to just sack him, become pragmatic and go all out for a top 4 this season. It seems that there is a big disconnect between what some fans on here want and what the club are trying to do.

I don't see the point debating with you. We both have our own facts to back up our own opinions. I think I'm right and you think you are right.

You'd like to sack Ange, bring in Thomas Frank and become more pragmatic. I don't. I see some of the performances and results this season that were brilliant and that alone makes me think there is progress and something to work on. I also appreciate we've a young squad and have been really hit with injuries. I thinkw e have a huge chance of winning a cup this year because on a going day we are good enough to beat any team.

We will never agree so lets just leave it at that.
