Competition FA Cup : The road to victory

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yeah but that's not the purpose of the FA cup.

The beauty of the competition is the mis-match ties it throws up and the luck of the draw that sends clubs like Spurs to places like Tamworth.

Sometimes the minnow gets drawn away to a giant and gets the windfall, sometimes they get drawn at home and its a great spectacle.

Regardless, they'll make a tidy sum from the TV and media exposure anyway

I expect we’ll give them our share of the tv money and the prize money for winning the tie (if we do of course!). £115,000 for winning the tie. No idea on the tv money.

The virtual tickets we bought off of Marine a couple of years ago have funded two promotions for them.

Maybe Tamworth could set up something similar.

Love it
Whilst it’s not the greatest venue for football :
I can certainly understand why West Ham decided to move to the London Stadium.

I think it'll be around 450 points if we're at Tamworth. There's only 537 people with that number or over so them plus the couple of hundred corporate, family etc allocation. It's really diminishing returns once you get that high e.g. there's only 112 at 500+ (who go to almost every game but sometimes maybe don't bother away to Ferencvaros or similar with tons of hassle) and 37 at 550+ (the people who go to literally every game, no mater what, Europa qualifiers in Tblisi etc).

Tamworth supporters will be looking forward to seeing the likes of Son, Romero & Kula but I doubt any of the first team will start. Just hope they do not have to come off the bench to get a result. If Ange plays a load of kids it will be pretty even match.
Free midweek before the match but we play at Woolwich on the Wednesday after. So will be on Sunday to ensure we do not have a good rest before Woolwich who will probably get the Friday to ensure they are fully rested.

""The gently slopping pitch grass pitch was removed in the summer of 2016, flattened and replaced with a state of the art 3G FIFA 2-star rated surface by Slatters, which has enable to The Lamb ground to become a community hub and host numerous younger sides under the Tamworth FC banner."
Isn’t a 3G surface a 100% artificial pitch? If so is that allowed?

I think Marine made a total of circa £300 h from the FA cup tie with us - sold 30,000 virtual tickets plus 50% tv rights etc. A huge sum for them.

Redeveloped a lot of their facilities - including a new 1984 bar and bistro ( open 7 days a week = ongoing revenue/profit stream), new snack kiosk, new hospitality suites, offices , kit store, first aid room, new fifa level pitch etc.

The FA cup tie hugely increased their regular fan support base - and has helped Marine gain 2 promotions since we played them.
