Where's all the money going then?

Who gives a fuck

Put the question in the General Football thread where it belongs.

Stuck him on ignore ages ago as I got fed up with him quoting me.

I genuinely think he's in a spiral he can't get out of. He's so entrenched in the pro Levy/ENIC position that it's taken over his life. At this stage, I dread to think what would happen to his mental well being if straight outta nowhere, we got sold and improved.
You spend that long defending the indefensible, and then you're proven wrong beyond all doubt. What happens? How does a person deal with that?
As someone who is continually proved wrong you do get used to it I have found

Uh huh

In that case bringing the wage bill down wouldn't be coupled with "not being competitive for a couple of years then", because it would all be relative.

I refuse to believe Ange has been hired with the express objectives of "not being competitive". If he has and he has readily agreed to it then he's agreed to be a human shield for COYSDaniel and therefore he's a mug, and we're mugs for paying the season ticket prices we do (but we always knew that TBF)
Did you go into this season thinking we'd massively strengthened and were ready to challenge? I didn't.

This is a long term plan from what I can see. All the signings point to that. I'm always amazed by how disconnected some of you are on here from reality.

Just getting ready to leave for the game , going to meet up with my good friend who is a B' mouth ST holder and got me the ticket ( in home end ) Have a quick beer with him before the game .

Really don't know what to expect tonight , hoping for the best but deep down , fearing the worst . Just to make it worse , it's started pissing down !

Come on Spurs , let's put this lot to the sword with a convincing display .

Catch up later guys
Bring us luck mate work for me tonight but will have box on.

No. Like last season and the season before and the season before that and the season before that I never expected us to challenge. This is nothing new for us. I came into this season expecting between 7-8th and that's where I still am.

However let's be honest, Harry Kane and the Bale loan apart we've never paid superstar wages. We were behind the big boys already so dropping further from there is just admitting fully we're a midtable club. Is that really what Ange signed up for? Bearing in mind he rarely stays anywhere more than 2-3 years anyway?

What from Anges managerial history suggests he's a long term project manager?

Yeah but there lies the problem. We aren't willing to pay for top players so unless we create them ourselves (Kane) or get lucky investing in young talent (Bale, Modric, Ali) then we're never going to have the world class players you need to win things. So as you said we will probably continue in the same cycle where we'd need everything to fall into place to get top 4, but realistically we finish 7/8th most seasons. I don't see any manager doing any better with the current squad.

The hope would be that some of these young players turn into world class players who can win things! I think thats how the club want it though. They can spend and be more aggressive but they are clearly choosing this patient approach much to the frustration of all fans who just want to see us win!

"Most seasons".....

Hyperbolic crap.

By this you ACTUALLY mean twice in the last 15 years..... We've finished top 4 in 7 of those seasons and 5th a further 4 times.

Our current manager finished 5th last season..... You think the squad is worse than last year?

I have no fucking idea how this match is going to go, other than it won't be 0-0. The depleted squad is a concern. 3 points would do wonders for the spirit, that's for sure. I don't see a draw of any score, actually, feels like 3 points or none.
