I remember- I think I was first one to get on that hill- posts are all still there in case any haters want to go check it all.

Amazing what some can see well before others.

Respect John Thomas 🫡
I’m going to learn from the wonderful foresighted attitude of yourself and John by declaring now that the next manager we get will get sacked at some point. I look forward to the day I can come on here to tell everyone I was right. It’ll be awesome.

I'm Ange in because changing the manager only means at some point in the future we will be in this position again where another guy is failing and the fans are once again demanding a change.

Whilst Levy is doing all the hiring and firing we are just going round in circles and it's pretty boring now tbh.

The man at the top has to change, it's that simple, until that happens I couldn't care less if Ange remains or not. This club will not win anything, will not challenge, will always lose games like this and others like this.
We all know that until Levy goes we aren't winning anything.
We all know we will be back here in 18 months. But this manager has us set up like a pub team, that's twice we've lost games from two up. He can't defend corners. He has to go.

He hasn't got a fucking clue has he?

Absolutely nobody else would think losing Romero was the cause of that.

Having zero control anywhere on the pitch was why we lost that, Chelsea virtually handed us a win if we had any fucking clue as a football club. Two up, you sit in, kill their momentum, win fouls and counter on them with pace.

This manager hasn't got a clue what he is doing, utter fraudulence.

I actually can't believe what I am seeing.

The team was diabolical today, no control, no tactics nothing. And the bloke in charge of it all clearly can't see any issues with the approach, just shows everyone he won't fix it, or change or anything. It's who he is mate. I can't believe he can watch that on the touchline and not think that the way he sets us up isn't the problem.

He will lead us into a relegation battle if he stays, I'm becoming more convinced.

If he isn't sacked tomorrow, I think our club is actually properly fucked.

The crazy thing is this isnt "who he is". My understanding of his previous jobs is that his style whilst on the front foot, is historically based on control and being dominant in midfield. None of this end to end basketball stuff, its more akin to suffocating the opposition. Aside from Celtic you cant even say he had the best players as they were salary capped leagues, basically designed to keep everyone even.

Managers usually try to minimise the variance factor in football matches. They want their teams to stay compact out of possession, not to take undue risks with ball and player movement in possession and so on. You just don’t want a tennis-esque match ,where both teams create an abundance of chances and the outcome is decided by who’s more clinical or more fortunate. Because it then essentially becomes a coin flip. You can never get consistently good results with a coin flip. These are not rocket science, I’m just stating the obvious here.

It seems like Ange actively seeks this. Huge gaps in midfield after initial press is beaten by the opponent. Players taking big risks with the ball anywhere on the pitch. Players mindlessly pushing forward without worrying about team shape or whatever. It’s just pure chaos. Not a trace of game management or control. It beggars belief honestly. How can any manager watch this week in and week out and think he’s on the right path?

Our ‘inconsistency’ is not by accident but by design. It’s the natural end product of Angeball (whatever this is). If you think this is entertaining (I don’t) then good for you. But don’t expect it to change.
It comes down to the idea that if you take the brakes off and give players the license to attack whatever the situation, their decision making will become so quick you can overwhelm the other side with numbers. Outscore and outlast. But you need natural scorers who can make the most of the additional chances you get, and it doesn't appear we have enough fire power yet to make it work. If you have very high possession (granted, today Spurs didn't) there's also something you give up and that is the high percentage chances good teams get on the counter. I hope Postecoglou can make this system work, but I'm not sure it can with these players.
