Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

As a Spurs fan who has Celtic as their second team this was all so inevitable. I said it the day Ange signed to my die hard Celtic mate, "I give him 18 months and in that time he will find out what it is like to manage with one hand tied behind your back, hamstrung by a chairman who lacks thek ambition to properly back their manager". Both out teams will lose out, with Celtic losing out there and then while Spurs will go through Levy's usual cycle of hiring a manager every 18 months.

Ange is not totally blameless but for fuck sake at least back him with senior players to give him a chance, but 14 managers in 25 yrs and one trophy points clearly to where the problem lies.

Plus the Levy drag factor

So now we have to play with an 18 year old midfielder as a centre back… if Ange takes 1 point from the next 6 games then he’s manager of the season….

Focus on next season, hopefully after a decent summer transfer window….

Agree. Levy saw Poch push for the title, achieve consecutive CL qualification, even getting us to the final on basically a budget. A chairman's dream, squeezing every last drop out of Poch and that squad of players. He has seen it done once and therefore thinks it can happen again ignoring the fact/reality that what Poch and that group of players achieved was underrepresented and habitual successful clubs are so because they spend big (wages/players) season on season. We are one of the richest clubs in the world so we can afford to do this but it's the accountant embedded in Levy that won't allow it.

If you take the goalkeeper and 3 centre backs out of Liverpool do you think they would be mid table? I think so….
We were midtable before the injuries kicked in and i think we're at the point he has to take responsibility for some, not all, of these injuries. The hamstring thing was a known issue with his time with Celtic because of the way he plays. Bringing the 2 centre backs early to save his skin, losing and them both getting injured again is a terrible look.

VdV was our only injury for the Ipswich horror show

We were only missing Son for the Palace meltdown

We were only missing Son for Brighton capitulation

For most of our horror shows this season we've been missing maybe one player a time. Bournemouth we were a bit more thin on the ground but we still should have the capability to at least match Bournemouth.

Yes the injury situation right now is bad but it's not like we've been reduced to asking people in the crowd if they've bought their boots with them.

That doesn’t seem to deter many in the past. Although I suspect that was more to do with the opportunity to work with peak Kane and son. Attracting candidates now won’t be as easy despite us being quite a cushy opportunity.
I funnily enough think that until we actually win something, anything. We will have it easier attracting more established managers than hot up and comers. Guys who already have established resumes who won't be harmed by possibly failing with us, but who would get elevated even higher by succeeding. There's a reason that someone like Jose looked actually excited about being here (other than the London factor and working with Kane and Son).

But a young rising coach who has yet to build a rep? That will be harder to pull off.

we have 1 centre back until the new year, i'd like him try something like

Porro--Gray--Dragusin---Udogie--Spence

until we are sorted back there in Jan, never gonna happen but i fear some hidings in the next 4 weeks
