Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

That's fine, but Ange Out people should be responsive to the challenge of midseason managerial replacements IN GENERAL.

You don't sack a manager as an act of divine judgment on the merits of that manager, you sack a manager to improve results.

Do people really think another Mason caretaker spell would accomplish that?
yeah you do. You pay someone and they will take the job. I'd guess he was relatively cheap compared to who else was linked as first, second, third etc choices. And it will improve once he is gone 👍 'Ange the Musical' - perfect as an Andrew Llloyd Webber show... it's got everything....even a lame lead song..."whoa whoa whoa Anger Postecoglou"🧇

With a clear aim to get back there and win the title.
Unlike us.
And the fans who say the don't even care about being in the CL.

BIG difference. If Chelsea spent 5 years out of the CL they'd be selling more often.

Yeah for sure, if you are an agent and you get a call from Todd Boehly saying I will give your world class player top wages and we will be buying other top class players as well, you pick up the phone. It makes fuck all difference if they are in the CL.

If you get a call from Levy and his Spurs finished 7th last year, you send that shit to voicemail because you know he won't pay the wages and your player isn't going to a squad built to win. The only reason you pick up the phone to Levy is of your player is a step below top class and none of the serious clubs have called yet.

I think people underestimate how appealing EPL is in general. EL winner from 2.5 years ago joined Palace close to relegation zone. Another former EL winner who managed the likes of Spain, Madrid and Sevilla joined Wolves at the bottom of the league, and is now managing WH. A young and upcoming manager with a fastly rising stock abandoned his team mid-season to join this mess of a United team. Emery left Villarreal for Villa when they were 16th. The point is that most ambitious managers in the world wouldn't turn down an opportunity to manage in this league just because they're not very enthusiastic about working with Levy. EPL clubs spend so much more (because they earn so much more in the first place) compared to rest of the world by default that even an owner known for being tight with money will be appealing to work with for most managers. The prospects of attracting a top-tier manager is not as grim as people think.

Exactly.

Which is why the CL is more important than fans give it credit for.
If we finish 7th (at the moment that's reaching) and win a league cup, players don't care. You might enjoy the day out at Wembley. But new players ain't coming to Spurs because we finished mid table and won a cup most other leagues don't even have.

The club has made such a hash of managerial appointments over the last few years that the fanbase has been tricked into thinking that it's nigh on impossible to attract someone here.

Clubs sack managers and get a replacement in almost immediately all the time, we're a relative oddity in being happy to write off huge chunks of the season to wait around for the cream of the crops like Nuno and Ange.

There are decent enough candidates out of work at any given time to come in, steady the ship, and achieve at least a par, and it is absolutely possible to extract a manager in employment during the season.

And you are right also in that THFC is not nearly as undesirable a job as some here seem to believe.

We were midtable before the injuries kicked in and i think we're at the point he has to take responsibility for some, not all, of these injuries. The hamstring thing was a known issue with his time with Celtic because of the way he plays. Bringing the 2 centre backs early to save his skin, losing and them both getting injured again is a terrible look.
lol. So the medical staff have no responsibility, the rehab team? Ange is not the one who decides if players are fit to play. Strewth!

Just when you think he couldn't look more beautiful

Is there no end to this man's charm and attraction?

What a piece of ass

😍😍😍

Who knew such a big man could be such a gigantic pussy? Absolutely pitiful that piece on getting Romero to apologise cause he dared say out loud and in public what anyone with half a brain cell knows.

Boss or not, Levy owns his ass so bad.

Go get a backbone, you lame Ozzie wet wipe.

I said it in another post. But I also think that we would have an easier time recruiting a established name manager than we would one of the up and coming wonderkids. An established manager like for example Roberto Mancini already has a successful resume and knows that if he fails to win something at Spurs, that will just be a footnote on a already good career. But if he succeeds his resume will look even better. For someone like him, it is a worthwhile gamble.

But a up and coming coaching prospect/hipsters choice like for example Will Still may be more hesitant since they are still building their resume and brand.

I mean you can complain all you want about how we're not spending enough or spending poorly, how we can never compete this way with the likes of City, Pool and so on. But we still spend more than at least 95 % of the clubs in the world in a given window. We just spent £30m on an 18 yr old prospect. How many teams can afford to spend that much on a single player in general, let alone one signed as a move for the future? Spending obviously doesn't tell the whole story, but I mentioned it because it's often the first point brought up when people start talking about how undesirable it is for a manager to work with Levy.

I'm exceptionally biased, but I'd go for Kieran McKenna to actually build for the future at Tottenham...not that we're building much football wise under ENIC anyway.
The only way anyone could or even should be allowed to stay long enough to build for the future, is to show genuine progress.
Something many of our former coaches fail spectacularly at.
And then of course, the ones that do actually show progress, lull Daniel Greedy into a false sense of security and he stops investing thinking everything is ok.
Did it with Jol. Did it with Redknapp. Did it with Poch. Probably even thought Conte was fine with the squad he managed to rabble in to the CL so didn't both giving him any upgrades either.

That’s not what I was saying at all. We’ve NEVER signed an elite-level player because we qualified for the CL.

The point is that for Spurs it doesn’t matter where we finish because we don’t pay the wages to attract top class players and nor do we surround them with other top class players.

And neither did the CL matter for a club like Chelsea because they do pay top wages and they do surround top class players with other top class players.

Our plan ( at the moment ) seems to be hoping they come good , yup you’ve have Modric , Bale & to an extent Dele but for every one of those prospects we’ve had dozens of Postiga Dos Santos , Ceballos, Dervite, Holtby, Blondel, Sessengon, Njie , Janssen .

They’re just off the top of my head

And now I need a lie down

😭

You're talking about signing them.

I'm talking about keeping them.
You think the likes of Romero, VDV, Porro, Kulusevski etc will hang around at a club that doesn't care about being in the CL?

Not a fucking chance.
