Look, Spence is not gonna start if he was the only fit player in the squad... I'd love him to start, but Ange don't like him. I get the impression he would rather forfeit the game than play Spence. The midfield is pretty much the only midfield players we have available at the moment. The front line is probably about right. We will obviously have to carry one of Johnson/Son/Werner - picking any one of those three is the same outcome.

Ange said Spence would probably get his chance in this period and I'm expecting him to start on the weekend. We have to rest of Porro or Udogie.
If it's me, I start Spence RB and then sub Porro for Udogie around 50-60mins and move Spence to LB. Then I can rest both before the Cup QF
The only good thing about this game is, no matter what the score you can be sure that Ange coached a win, and thats all that matters! 
Surely he should be focusing on trying to get the best out of under performing first team starters that play more like Son,Maddison,Bissouma etc. Seems a strange choice to pick an impact/second choice player to attack to try and get more out of but leaving bissouma to stink the place out every week and saying nothing.

The only basis or consideration in what Postecoglou did re: Werner is to put all other players on their guard.
For me you do that by leaving players that are falling short on the bench for extended periods.
