/// He's renowned for motivating players.
correct. He is a motivator/speaker
he aint no Player developer/Match-Manager/Tactician/ Coach/Trainer
At Celtic - he has got a good assistant in J Kennedy
Also the grp leadershiphas more character - McGregor is a real Captain.
He effectively relegated Leicester last time he was in the prem and had them playing really naive football
I don't think that Iraola would take it either. He is also still building his reputation.Do you mean like Iraola? I can’t see that level of coach taking this poisoned chalice
Maybe this group of elite players playing in the best league in the world don't truly believe in his methods/tactics as a leader of them? What list did he have to pick from?
He's renowned for motivating players. The Australian NT, Yokohama and 'Celtic's squad would run through brick walls for him. Why can't he motivate this group of players?
As for developing players, as he said in his presser, its the senior players that are the let down-should senior players need development coaching or should they already be developed? Isn't the kids that need it?
Its not all on the manager-there is squad attitude issue. He'll get the arse soon enough, but it doesn't stop when he's gone.
It’s worth billions now, they aren’t walking away from that.1. ENIC invested millions; not billions.
2. It was no coincidence that the owner who sold the club to ENIC did so during a period when the club captain, a home grown hero of the supporters, made the decision to leave Spurs, for their bitter rivals, for a free transfer, due in part to a perceived lack of ambition and direction at the club. It was too big a wave for the previous brain surgeon to ride and he took what he was offered. He decided he had had enough of the abuse.
Yes but...
If he’s done it everywhere and he’s so amazing, why is it suddenly not working?
You are not going to convince me that the players at Celtic, or some Japanese team are better players than we have here.
Either the players are disrespectful or incapable of being motivated or developed or this is a coach out of his depth.
The same players that he got 5th with last year, by the way. You tell me what went wrong.
Fack me, Mancini or Rodgers, like choosing which knacker to saw off with a rusty knifeI don't think that Iraola would take it either. He is also still building his reputation.
I think that someone like Mancini is more likely. Or dare I say it... Rodgers (sigh). Guys who have already won trophies and proven to be successful. Guys that have nothing to lose by possibly failing to win something with Spurs. But everything to gain from potentially breaking the trophy drought.
I suppose that is a bit blunt. The main thing is your line about “we should be comfortable being a top 8 club”. Nope not for me. Or, horse shitThanks for the well structured input lol

Okay with you now. And I think you’re right. I wonder if Levy might be enough to even put off those types of managers though who maybe just don’t need the hassleI don't think that Iraola would take it either. He is also still building his reputation.

West Ham made the semi that year and would have beaten that Rangers side in the final and the eventual winners Frankfurt drew and lost to us the following year in the CL when we were having problems with Conte. The gulf is fucking hugeAnd yet Rangers played in the Final of the Europa league in one of two seasons where they were Postecoglou's bitches.
That's the question.
He made them greater than the sum of their parts. Not here though. Why?
I think to an extant all three could be true.
Injuries have played a big part in it. He also hasn't imparted his signature style on this squad-for that reason, its time he went. 18 months is long enough. Its not working.
Maybe not appointing fading nice guy Son as captain. Set the right tone FFS!

He can’t even motivate himself to have a plan BWhat list did he have to pick from?
