Not sure of the rules but we need homegrown and if Moore goes on loan does that mean he is not counted as homegrown? Yang is different but apart from Kane &Skipp. who else really did well on loan to get a starting place when they came back.
No Moore would be fine because he's been at the club for years, it's 3 years at the club before the age of 21, so generally academy players wilp always be HG Club Trained.

If you sign a player at 18 then they only have 3 years to amass the 3 years at the club, so any loan will scupper the Club Trained status.

I played in a team, when I was a youngster, that went unbeaten for just over 2 seasons in all competitions. Then we lost our first game and went on a 5 game losing streak. Teams we'd smashed in previous seasons were turning us over until we got our mojo back.

It's amazing just how hard that first loss hits you when you're not used to it.

City have had losing spells before, but their home form was also something they could rely on. Not only did we destroy them, we did it on their own patch. That has absolutely smashed them mentally. There's no assurance in the way they play, they're hesitant, pedestrian and playing like a bunch of strangers.

It's all about their mentality at the moment, it's now in the basement.
That you Pep.
🤔

Solanke will be fine when we get another striker but he is never in a million years good enough to lead us to glory.

It's not talent but between the ears.
Just don’t think he takes up good positions. He doesn’t get on the ball enough. He’s good when chasing back but as a focal point in the box not so good. Also can he create something out of nothing for himself or bang one in from edge of the box. To me it’s like Johnson good at tap ins in and around 6 yard box but not much else.

Brennan on the left

ffs Ange come on man
He was woeful. At 5 up you’d think he’d try to do something when he got the ball but offered very little. Moved to tight midway not much better. A number of times he had the ball and could have tried to beat his man but never tried. Only once did he do it and put a ball in the box. If he can’t be bothered to take a little risk and go for it at 5 up then when can he. Perfect opportunity to shows us he could be decent winger.

Werner & Johnson ought to be looking to rip their tiring FBs apart.

Won't hold my breath though.
This is the problem with having these two wingers. In the old days you’d look forward to seeing some skillful players come on at 5-0 to bring some excitement to the game. These do not give you that same feeling. I remember when we had Paul Walsh wasn’t always a starter but when he came you expected him to try something. These try f all, may be Werner has a little straight run. But none of these could turn and get away from a player like say Spence did for first goal. Or nut Meg a player , anything. Until I see Johnson do something with the ball he will always be down as a useless alround footballer. Werner will be off so doesn’t matter.

Lol. He was fantastic. He is a better defender than Porro he's bigger and stronger than you at first think. This is an elite EPL footballer. I don't understand what's the deal. If he turns up 20 min late I'd learn to live with it.
Ffs managers like Fergie would sort him out if he did it regularly. How often was he late! Sometimes in football they go OTT with things like that and make a mountain out of a molehill. Is late once and all of a sudden the narrative is his got a bad attitude, lazy, blah blah blah. When in reality it could just be the once. The manager needs to have a strong word with player and make it clear it won’t do if you want to be part of the plans.

First, the opposition is something below shit. They should play in the Championship starting New Year's. Shocking doesn't begin to describe it.

But the team selection was better today. I'm glad Spence got hold of some compromising photos and got Ange to play him. Glad Maddison could get in the 11 today too. :roflmao:

It was a fun watch, but we've seen this cycle happening for a while. One decent win, string of poor play, one decent win, another string of poor. This may provide momentary relief for Ange (but not for Levy according to the chants :roflmao:) but it doesn't represent a difference from the pattern of this whole era.

What happens Thursday can contextualize this as either playing the bottom team or the start of something good. Hopefully it's the latter.

Credit where Credit is due. The team was superb but some perspective. This Southampton team is probably the worst I've seen in the PL era and I've seen 94/94 Swindon, 07/08 Derby and last seasons Sheff Utd. Let's see where we are after the next 3 games. This win doesn't change my view. We need to change course.
