Transfers January Transfer Thread 24/25

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Because you’re omitting a huge percentage of players by doing so. Won’t matter for us though as long as levy can do a deal and feel like he’s got one over somebody.
Shared this before. But worth repeating. I know various business owners who have dealt with the Levy family through the clothing trade in days past. It was routine for them to agree deals and at the last moment demand changes to the deals which greatly increased their advantage. More often than not, the suppliers were forced to accept the changes.

With the stadium build, where again I was fortunate enough to know people involved, similar tactics were at play with suppliers throughout. In addition to chronic micromanagement.

Although never been explicitly mentioned, I cannot assume that different approaches exist to the finances of football transfers.

Happy to be proven wrong, and I accept what I share is anecdotal…

Thinking a 6 month loan for Kelleher to solve the GK problem. Maybe with an option to buy. Kelleher wants first team football and if he can maintain his place after Vic returns from injury then he might see us a viable.

Forster has generally done well since the Vic injury, but has obviously got limitations in his game play.
Pool are never gonna let him go while they are chasing the league and CL. Alisson has a propensity to get injured in recent years too. He’ll go in the summer when Mardmidashvilli joins.

Former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou is reportedly eyeing a January move for Celtic winger Nicolas Kuhn, with Tottenham Hotspur among several Premier League clubs considering an approach for the in-form German.

Saw him absolutely destroy RB Leipzig in the CL. Interesting player. Was highly rated as a teenager and then had some injuries and illness.

Kelleher is more likely to stay at Liverpool and become their No 1 in the summer if they let Allison go. He’s the best back up keeper in the league IMO. And better than most first choice for many teams.

No chance we get him without serious cash

He’s hinted he’s gonna leave in the summer. And Mardmidashvill is an absolute star. I don’t see us going for him at the price Liverpool would want. I think we’ll probably have to go abroad and develop a young keeper.

Thing have changed since Harry was a manager. And there is a reason why he no longer is a manager...
Yes, head-coaches won't take all the right decisions when buying players but so does the scouts as well, even after watching a player for several season and doing thorough analysis of thru live games and hours of videos.

Hopefully bo!!ocks.

Wingers are not the key requirement.

Are managers even more knowledgeable about footballers not within their immediate proximity than your average football fan is? These guys spend most of their time on the training ground, dealing with their own players. What makes anybody think that they have the necessary energy and desire to keep up with dozens of players from other teams and leagues in their limited spare time?

"Back the manager by signing players that are handpicked by him" has to be one of the most misguided shouts in terms of squad building. The ultimate goal should be the exact opposite: To establish a recruitment system where manager has minimal impact, because there are already specialists who are employed specifically for this purpose.

Thats how it seems to be at Spurs. We sign players regardless of who the manager is or what he really wants. The club is constantly scouting players and monitoring contract situations and will offer names according to the positions the manager wants to strengthen.

I’d hate playing against him. You’d know you are coming off at full time covered in cuts and bruises. But very talented too. A rare coming together of styles.
Looks great but I imagine the club has high hopes that Lankshear can become the same for us and we already have Solanke.

Maybe you sell Richy and bring in Delap. Lankshear gets a couple of years out on loan and then comes in to replace Solanke.
