I’ll out myself a voter for Potter. Mine was one of the old votes from whenever this was originally posted, because I thought he was likely the most feasible at that point.
Can I ask you to expand on this?
Are you saying you will accept any old shit because after 23.5 years of continually doing whatever they want, and getting away with it without being held accountable, ENIC are unlikely to sacrifice the miser's bonus to get a credible manager for the core business?

Maybe I'm missing something but; my point was that a 30 - 40% win ratio will equate to less points than a 40 - 50% win ratio.

As Brucie used to say; "What do points make" (swooping right hand from botttom to top)

:sonpoint:
You're correct about that, it probably goes with without saying. Just not sure what your broader point is. That Silva is better than Potter because he got higher win rate with other teams?

In my view, it's not really transferable. I've seen no proof that it is. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. 50-50 split.

Both managers got higher rates when they switched.

I genuinely think Wayne Rooney has a shot . If we work on the basis that the property side is way more important than the football ,Rooney looks like he could put a serious shift in as a hod carrier. One salary two jobs, this is right up Levy’s strassa

Potter had a worse win ratio than Silva, at two clubs, with, (arguably) better players.

OK. I'm convinced. Silva is the messiah. what the fuck is wrong with everyone else?! Vote Silva!

FFS, can't you see the evidence before you eyes?!! He will cure all ills! Stop being Evangelists! Win rates are transferable and xG is so last season. etc. etc.

Angry sarcasm aside, I still don't see how that's transferable to us. so we'll get a magic extra 5-10% win rate when he arrives? he is objectively a better manager because his experience elsewhere is directly comparable to Ange's and Potter's? Despite being different clubs, different players, different years.

I'm saying it doesn't work like that, you 're saying it does. How about we agree that you are right and I cross my fingers while I type this.

EDIT: Just to be clear, the only thing I believe is that we don't know. I don't GAF about potter, silva, ange, poch or anyone else.

EDIT 2: Also, you are *probably* right. Silva might just be a better coach, but you'll never know because we can't get both to do the same job at the same time.

I wouldn't have any interest in Potter. Good job at Brighton but they are the best run club in the league. De Zerbi and the new guy both done just as good a job. And he obviously found himself out of his depth at chelsea although that probably was a mess he took over, but he still completely failed. So I'd pass on him and wait for Iraolo in the Summer.

This is pretty much the options. It has to be an attacking possession oriented manager as otherwise it makes no sense given the squad build so that leaves Irola and Potter as the options and let’s be honest little chance Irola leaves mid season.
Wouldn't call Potter attack minded at all, Brighton scored much more sparsely under him than they have with his successors.

My intention was never to make you angry.

My point is that if Ange is replaced then Silva, in my opinion, would represent the best option that Levy could get for Spurs if Prem proven is part of the criteria, which after Ange, it probably should be.

The current Spurs squad is probably the best group of players that Silva would have had the opportunity to manage in England. He has clearly improved several players, during his current stint at Fulham, which also suggests he could get more from several of our younger players.

For what it is worth; I still think carrying on with Ange, until the end of the season or the end of Spurs chances to win a trophy, should be the chosen path. Silva would still be interested in Spurs by the summer. The current injuries to Spurs defenders is a freak occurrence and is definitely part of the current problem whoever was picking the team. The miser left Ange short of two Solanke level players in the summer window, while charging supporters top dollar, reducing the wage bill but remains one of the best paid chairman in the Premier League despite continual fuck ups. The miser has long standing form for this, over two decades, and we all know it.

The miser needs to sort it out in January or sack himself this time.
